Derik was fine today at CB, he's not the biggest and there may be one or two who might bully him a bit but his class, speed and reading of the game will make up for that.

 

Most other CBs in this league are cloggers by comparison

It's more the break up of that centre back pairing that worries me, rather than individual injuries to Wheater or Beevers.

 

Hoping that Derik is good enough to compensate though.

 

Not to mention Howard being out, but hopefully Alnwick will be as steady, despite his error at Peterborough

Without Howard & Wheater, I feared our defence might suffer but Alnwick & Derik didn't seem to weaken us at all. Very impressive, but I'll be pleased to see Wheater back & let Derik play in his best position in front of the defence.

 

No poor performances. Those still trying to have a pop at Madine are making themselves look silly now.....he's making a positive contribution to the team & is easily the best we have in his position. If we could get better than him for free then we should do so ( which also applies to every player ) but I'd say it's very unlikely.

 

Vela was very good but Spearing's anticipation alone was in a different class to anyone else...MOM & welcome back. Hurrah.

A Taylor is proper decent. Like him a lot.

After match due to various transport considerations, Early Dart, Son of Dart and Back up North visit the Hotel for an hour.

Embankment, Sputnik , On de Wagon Ash , The Shark and Darwens Finest plus an escort from Whites Man headed to Barnstormers.

After an hour of aftermatch discussion the juke box was ramped up.

Son of Dart and Pinocheo's Dad turned up.

Back up North had heads straight to Finishers.

8.30 pm . Taxi to Finishers , great Ale but that bloody oversized table in the middle of the room needs shifting. Onto what was East to West. Very very good Curry.
