Morizio Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 The Megson arms, only serves bitter. But has a very well tended garden. Right miserable cunt behind the bar, fucking hates customers Quote
Sweep Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 No great loss shit overpriced ale. I wouldn't expect the new place will be any cheaper, or any better quality ale Quote
Traf Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Correct, it will be equally as shit, if not shitter. Just newer and possibly more expensive. Quote
Big City Girl Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I will try it when it opens, it might make a change from Chiquitos, but don't have high hopes. Scott's was horrible - dirty, shabby and the toilets were a disgrace, I would only go in if we were meeting others. Quote
MickyD Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I wouldn't expect the new place will be any cheaper, or any better quality ale Is it the quality of the drinks or is the manager on such tight profit margins that throwing away the contents of the beer lines during a line clean makes the difference to his figures. I don't know how far the cellar is from the bar but even if each pump had to pour off a couple of pints before the caustic soda came through and then another pint after the water flush, cleaning the lines becomes an expensive business when you have 15-20 pumps. Now just think, if the owners said to clean (and lose that amount of beer) on a weekly basis but the manager did it fortnightly, would this show in his profits? Just a theory as to why the beer is shit at most of this type of modern pub. Quote
