Whether Im excited or not is irrelevant, I base a crowd estimate on the ticket price and our crowd history

We've not had 25,000 pay full price for a home league match outside the top division since the 1970s.

The biggest league match we've had outside the top division at the Macron was the play off semi final 2nd leg v West Brom when roughly 20,000 Bolton fans paid the full whack.

In fairness mate that stat is heavily dependant on restricted capacity in the latter years at Burnden.

We could have got more on for Preston, the big cup games of the Rioch era and the final match against Charlton if we had the space I reckon.

This.

Ps, taking 4 mates, one old boy who hasn't been since Prem years, Brother in Law and Sister (Man U) who enjoyed Oldham away so much (my 50th day out), they were trying to get to Vale yesterday, and a skint mate who I'm treating. Oh and Mrs Rat-lucky charm..

The  £5 price has been the most important factor in the 2 biggest home turnouts at the Macron outside the Premier League. They were 24,000 v Grimsby in 2001 and 23,000 v Chesterfield this season.

We've had 3 Championship play offs with thousands less home fans on.We've had a must win to get in the Championship play offs v Blackpool with less home fans on

It is what is. We just aren't a club that have 25,000 willing to pay full whack for a lower division league match.I would love to be proved wrong.

Even away only fans like me who haven't been a home game since Blackpool is seriously thinking of getting up there from London and I know a few others who already have changed their bank holiday weekend plans for this one.

The problem is the fucking kick off time being 12 noon (which loon decided that?. Can get into Horwich Parkway for 11.50 but an almost 4 hour journey and the same back is not good.

You may be right but reckon it will be around 23000

Any u18's spares in the west going? Before I call ticket office

How many did we have on against Blackpool last game of season?

Or am I misunderstanding things

Best will in the world, its not you and the rest on here he's talking about.

I'm hopeful plenty will return, but if a reduced price helps then just do it.

Who knows might just help the team over the line and could be worth the cost.

On the way out from the 5 quid match this season I heard a few saying they wanted their fiver back.. I think we'll struggle to attract over twenty thousand, I know a few who went boxing day and said they wouldn't bother again this season. Hope I'm wrong though

We had more than 18k on for the Bury game - I'd be really surprised if there's less on next Sunday.

Is this not part of the club together scheme?

No, scratch that... Sure there is a way, just need one kids team to be flag bearers, and 2000 surrogate dads have a jolly!

Do we want them? At the Chesterfield game I was surrounded by folk I'd not seen in years if ever before and, if I'm honest, I can do without their constant whinging.

Let's be fair, chesterfield performance was hardly going to enthuse lapsed fans.

The club needs as many folk in the ground as possible.

They started moaning at about 20 minutes because we weren't already two or three goals up.

Can't comment on their motives- not being two or three up maybe- but I was moaning at the terrible quality of our performance.

The atmosphere was pants, and it can't all be blamed on jcls.

I know what you're saying mick, but we need as many as possible through the turnstiles. A decent performance and promotion will see everyone singing from the same sheet.

Absolutely. Yesterday the fans were with the players. The support immense. Against Chesterfield after 15 minutes two blokes behind me started slagging off every mis placed pass. That sort of thing spreads and before you know if, half the ground is moaning.

Keep the shit fans away!

who do laburnums play?
