Lots of articles this weekend about Amazon blocking certain apps on their devices. Apparently there is a crackdown and people getting their wrists slapped because of it.

These stories seem to do the rounds about once a year, but maybe not on the same scale as this weekend. Is the end nigh for this type of thing?

Well, Amazon wouldn't have sold a firestick to me if it wasn't for the dodgy app. 

There will always be another device

The main threat is if authorities hit data centres where it hurts for allowing streams to run via them.

Malaga data center was raided regularly a few years ago and was always back to normal in a couple of days. AFAIK they haven't been raided for a few years now and streams still run through there.
