I think the tone of communications has improved over the last few weeks maybe the message has finally got home.

Don't think I've ever been to a ground anywhere that has wifi for fans?

Can't see Bolton being the trailblazing ones to offer it first

Cant see why any club would do so

Journalists and the like I can

Unless it's to allow gonzo to link his whatsapp account to the scoreboard if the match is a bit shit

What you need is a provider to plonk a mobile mast on Middlebrook on matchdays, given no fucker can get any data. Then any fucker using Snapchat gets their phone dropped down a grid.

Interview with Daniel Izza: Chairman of the Supporters Trust

1) What made you decide to get involved with the Supporters Trust?

I have been a supporter for40 years.  I had become increasingly frustrated that the club was becoming more remote from the fans in the Gartside era. The events of winter 2015/6 convinced me that the ownership of the club should be broader with greater fan involvement and looking to integrate the club further into the Bolton community.

2) What role is the Trust currently playing?

To support the club, support the specific aim of promoting young talent, improving the matchday experience, keeping the views of the fans in the mind of the club, keeping the owners to account in respect of major decisions

3) How much is the Trust working with the club?

We are working closely with the club on several issues, a working relationship is essential. We remain independent and on other issues we are keeping the owners to account.

4) What do you make of the club’s current position on and off the pitch?

Delighted at the promotion as the increased revenue of the championship and the expiry of premier league legacy contracts mean that the club is closer to stability and sustainability. We are under no illusion that investment and lifting of the EFL embargo are huge priorities. After managing the difficult period to date, there needs to be a vision as to how the club is to move forward.

5) What are the Trust’s aims for the future?

As a community benefit society, we aim to promote the voice of the fan at the highest level within the club. Our aspiration is To help achieve greater success for the club

6) What are your predictions for this season?

The season must be about consolidation and stabilising the club. The removal of the embargo is a priority as without a broader squad, the club will find it difficult to compete. Being realistic and assuming we keep the restricted squad fit, I would hope for mid table.

Many thanks to Dan for his time.

Note even in a tame interview like this Izza TWICE states about "keeping the owners to account".

I've been supporting for over 40 years too, big whoop. Anyone who thought that he club became more remote from the fans during the Gartside era really, really knows nothing about being a fan of BWFC. They were ALWAYS remote, always. That era didn't change anything. He is wrong, plain and simple.

Also, I don't remember him from the Burnden day, does anyone? Or is he like Maggie Tetlow, a JCL?

This is what they want. Finally on record saying it. Their aspiration is a club run by committee. No rich owners. Fan committee.

How do you come to that conclusion from that statement?

the bit where they said they wanted 'broader' ownership

the bit where they said they wanted 'broader' ownership

Think a lot of assumptions been drawn from the original comment perhaps he just wants fans representation at board level and increased level of club involvement in the community.

First & foremost we want a successful team .There are no successful fan' owned' teams above League 1 .

The trust need to stop waffling about 'communities' and support the current regime as Anderson has done a commendable job so far

based on footballing & business criteria. Their support needn't be unqualified but they need to STILL watch their language particularly

in terms of club ownership.

Fan owned clubs are the tool of last resort in a crisis which is the sole  reason I am a trust member.

I really think that Ken has a vision and is acting in line with it every day.

It may/not be the same vision, of course

Edited by boltondiver

I think Ken has given his vision more than enough. He's said numerous times he's welcome investment and the door is always open for offers.

In the meantime he'll run the club accordingly.

How much more can you fucking say?

That they're tossers?

What does 'ownership of the club should be broader' mean other than not a rich owner?

Who gives a flying shit about his predictions for the season. He's as qualified as the next man on footballing matters.

That they're tossers?

They're clearly not. I've invited Izza to an LOV interview with supporter submitted questions. Let's see how he responds.

I'm open minded

I'll submit my question........While Mr Anderson has done a great job for Bolton Wanderers by turning us around both on & off the pitch, why has the ST sulked in the background, tried to undermine Mr Anderson & shit stirred against the club.......not the actions of real supporters ?

Is it because they're a bunch of clueless fantasists who dream of running a football club even though they have neither the ability nor the finance to do so, & think that if they mention " the fans " often enough, nobody will notice how pointless & irrelevant they really are ?

I await with interest the answers to the probing questions posed by firth and suffolk

Three peas in a pod

I don't think there is anything wrong with the ST 'holding the board to account' that's what non-exec directors do in a 'normal' organisation and we don't have any. Just go about it in a professional way - IE neutral businesslike language and not the type of stuff we have seen in the past. This interview seems much more positive.
