Mounts Kipper
Why are these wealthy folk chipping in via a ST? Why are others chipping in £10 to join? It's all over the shop. You'd be better asking Pompey ST and their rich benefactors that question. All I can say is that's what Pompey Trust said at the inaugural meeting. Moderators Carlos Posted May 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2017 I don't care enough other than to point out it makes no sense, if the man on the street chips in £10, it's meaningless without the rich folk. Portsmouth had years of decline, time to form this organisation correctly. Good luck to them. Ours was thrown together and is a fucking shambles. enzo gambaro
Fair enough then sorry for raising it , professional thing to me would be to "hold" the statement until you perhaps had all the information you needed but I do appreciate hindsight's blindsight and all thatDon't take it personally, eh? Sweep
I remember the Portsmouth bloke saying that the trust wouldn't work at championship level up Did they say why? Also, is the ST a closed shop, or are their annual elections, so those in charge can be voted off if people don't like them?
Moderators Casino Posted May 13, 2017 Author Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2017 i think there are elections the current lot werent elected as there were less folk put their names forward than there were positions i would suggest nobody put their names forward because most of the folk who did at the outset were totally ignored and heard nowt rejected out of hand by a set of non entities im currently giving some thought as to what we can do to remove these loons and how to make the trust useful

Moderators Carlos Posted May 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted May 13, 2017 The 2016 AGM document gives a board structure... There are people in their working groups, as detailed there, who haven't been mentioned in any other communication. Who are they? Who appointed them? There are also reports that people tried to stand and received no reply. They certainly do not communicate with people, other than to make outlandish statements. Just where is the transparency??? Take Hunt Off
You have to have folk willing to replace them otherwise it's a non starter nobody volunteered prior to the last election hence they stepped into the positions unopposed. The mouthpiece of the Trust is the one causing most negativity & needs replacing.
Damo2308
I personally see the idea as always being a none starter if there are no monies to be put into running the club. At the end of the day though its about time that Mark Iles and his fellow journos at the BEN stopped printing shit and got there facts straight before going to press. It doesn't take long for the media (Nationally) to jump on the bandwagon and report issues that are unfounded. We all know the issues the club have experienced over the last 18 months caused by Gartsides mismanagement of the club but just as we are some sort of way to being more on an even keel along comes the BEN and reports shit. Surely they are there to support our club and not drive the nail in.

Sluffy
if it was done through the forum, id want to involve the others there are others, arent there obvious questions for me if there are to be elections, when are they? there are, i think, 3 board members - is it limited to 3, if not, how many There are other forums - as I'm sure you know - and I'm certain the good folks at Bolton Nuts would be more than happy to support you with this. http://forum.boltonnuts.co.uk/ We've had many a heated debate about the ST since its inception but I think it fair to say now the majority view held on 'Nuts' is that the ST as it is being led by its Board now, is not fit for purpose. There are countless threads on Nuts over the months about the ST but one for the first time ever not one single person has posted to support the ST's actions this week. As for the ST's constitution I believe elections for the board are held every TWO years as so I would imagine that unless the current Board resigns, they will be leading the direction of the organisation for another year yet in a way they believe is best! Sweep
if it was done through the forum, id want to involve the others If folk from here were to get involved, I'd love it to be somebody like Mounts. An out and out Bolton fan who would always have the clubs best interests at heart, and who I feel wouldn't be in it for himself.......obviously he may have no interest in such a thing He's also have to leave his tinfoil hat at home for meetings
gonzo
See I think the last thing we would ever need is supporters anywhere near the ownership of the club. Last time that happened we ended up in £8 billion worth of debt. After the bolton fan owner let the bolton fan loose with his bolton covered cheque book. We need business men to run the business and be left alone whilst doing it.

I mean apart from wondering who would do that on a Sunday, how hard can it be to reply to an email? I'm not talking recently, it was months back, when the whole Tower FM/BBC radio Manc thing was going on. Another scenario they got wrong, amongst many, like you say, how hard is it to reply to an e-mail? Even if it was a 'thanks for your e-mail, we'll be back to you/making comment shortly' or the likes, I know others that e-mailed similarly at the time. They'll probably reply to you as LOV, but not to individuals? tells me exactly what I need to know about their direction
Take Hunt Off
I don't see the trust running any club & that includes the tufty club however it could facilitate some breathing space & new business men owners if the worst should happen . It's within its rights to question the direction the club is taking just like the rest of us but most of its statements are tinged with a lack of respect for the owner even though he has orchestrated our return to the championship on a shoestring! They need to get real.
Happy Wanderer
For me personally the ST gets a vote of no confidence. Looking back on the first meeting to give the ST a motion of "yeah let's go for it" from that point it all went down hill and more so the last few months. It is run like a youth club, if they love the club and want to be a respected entity all current board members need to step aside and the ST needs to take a back seat until a point in time that elected members to the board are in situ. From that point on they need proper advice and set out a strategy and stop dreaming of being on the board of BWFC, it just won't happen. As it stands now no wealthy backer would feel comfortable handing them any money. If anyone from the ST is reading this, take on board all the comments and make a decision and stop embarrassing yourself and our club.
