One of the last great football grounds to go, this along with West Ham were my favourites in London back in the day.The first time i went pre internet i made the mistake of going to Seven Sisters, a bloody long walk

2004/05 Tottenham 1 Bolton 2  is up there in my top 5 Bolton away days.The death of Bill Nicholson had everyone at Spurs up for the match but Sam's great side controlled things.Tottenham equalised early in the second half only for Henrik to grab a lateish winner.The Bolton end was full albeit only around a 1,000 tickets in the upper tier.Getting the train back to Liverpool St from WHL with hundreds of disgruntled Spurs fans was a pleasing experience.I knew at the time to savour every moment of these heady days.

I went to the end of season game when it was free travel and we sold out, must have been 2008 ish

 

Took the ex Mrs to her first game

 

Missed tickets but managed to get sone outside off a tout in the home end, only realised when we got in that the 2 seats were not together. In with all the Spurs dickheads separated, ha ha

 

She wasn't happy and wanted to sack it off, luckily a quiet word with the steward and he moved us into the away end as a couple of seats (together) were empty

Think we went the following season as well, sure it was Harry's first game in charge

The okocha match was better

 

Great ground, everything that villa park and goodison want to be but aren't

 

Not be sad to hear the back of 'the lane' mind

Okocha game was ace. Missed the first half an hour due to the police thinking I was a lad and giving me a police escort to the ground. Also the Muamba game was the strangest I have ever been too. Was a great day till then but really somber after

Probably attended spurs away than most other premier clubs

 

Okotcha game obviously stands out and we Had a good win I think a year later pedersen scored.

Was in Zante when we played them in the Prem then in the Carling Cup in  midweek, watched the win at WHL in Tsilivi and then watched Soccer Special at the hotel when they beat us 4-3 at the Reebok.

 

Remember a game when Nakata was playing, we completely dominated the game, hitting the woodwork, keeper making saves but Lennon robbed us

 

Of course the Muamba incident.

Good thing about this move is that at least people will probably be able to keep their age old match day rituals/pubs etc. Not exactly moving far are they.

Losing 6-0 there in quarter finals of league cup is one to forget.

The Okocha game is in my top 5 Bolton aways with a then young son.

By far and out my favourite ground. From the moody as pubs and estates round it to the atmosphere in it. It's got everything a ground should be. So sad to see it go.

 

Another nail in the proper ground coffin.

 

Probably my most visited London ground. 5 times off the top of my head. 3-2 on that Monday night match being the first.

 

Went on that Sunday when Arry had just been appointed. Can't remember the score but we got beat easy.

That last match of season was a belter too. Atmosphere was amazing. I went on crutches. Wouldn't dream of it now.

Love spurs away. Like others my fav ground too. Relegation season when Diouf in 08 scored was a belter. Sun was out, sold out away end and getting the beers in at 11am inside a pub just around the cirner of the ground. Both fans mixing together and having a good time.

3 undeniably world-class performances

As far as me attending is concerned, the 1-0 loss back in the season in the old Div 2 when we beat them twice at Burnden (League and Cup) and one of those was a night match where they tried to storm the Burnden Paddock and came badly unstuck.

 

On that day at WHL, it was a full house and electric atmosphere with The Shelf in fine form. Great old stadium.

 

The abiding memory however will revolve around one Fabrice Ndala Muamba. Bit of a bond formed with Spurs that night and I have since wished them well. Hopefully they won't be the bridesmaid again next season.

How cringe was that

 

Sadly never went WHL.

My 2 visits were both memorable. The 1 0 defeat in the 77/78 season. Sat in the away end mouthing off but surprisingly no reaction from the Spurs fans.

The cup match and Muamba was a little different.

We came out of the ground and like everyone else, thought he'd died on the pitch. Under the circumstances, we thought we could get a drink in a local pub but they wouldn't let us in. A Spurs fan came to our aid and said he'd take us in a pub. We got in without a problem and he bought us all a drink, 4 of us. They were great but one dickhead took exception to us being in, as he put it, a Spurs Firm pub.

The big time Charlie thought it was tough to accidentally keep bumping into us as he walked past.

We decided to leave and expected it to continue outside but it didn't happen.

99.9 % of Spurs fans were great that day and I'd happily call them my second team now.

1978 being in the wrong end behind the goal when McCallister scored for them and getting moody looks because me and my mate weren't celebrating !

I never liked going to Spurs, miles away from the nearest tube and crap pubs. I only went 3 or 4 times, one of them the JJ game. I think the last time I went was one of the many F.A cup ties we've had with them, a replay. Stu Holden was playing his first or second game for us.
