You know, if they had actually voted for independence (or do so in the future), then so be it. A democratic referendum result.

Not really, my partner lived in Scotland for 15 years, we are there very often. It amazes me that people who hold your views have such a small take on how other people conduct their lives. It’s either for or against, and that in itself is a nonsense.

Perhaps the EU would be better off agreeing to modify the backstop/insurance policy such that it becomes acceptable to all then?

It would be hugely beneficial to all wouldn't it.

But no, just years of criticism and bluster, and last gasp agreement.

we can all do that, fact is infrastructure and the removal of free north south co operation contravenes it

Perhaps, but to do that they would need to have an alternative proposal to agree too? 

It was Britain’s proposal in the first place that was rejected , so now they are saying, ok, you’re parliament rejected it, what’s the alternative?
