There will always be backbench demands. We’ve had 14 years of rabid and extremist right wing backbenchers holding the whole country to ransom as the Tory party was too weak to ignore them and we’ve suffered hugely as a result.

Cranks like Braverman who in past times would have been hidden from view given ministerial roles to try and hold their party together. And we’ve all suffered for it.

Now Labour can simply ignore their backbenchers for a while. And given Braverman raised the issue on lifting the cap in Parliament why are you suggesting this is a left wing thing. It seems to be something the Tories brought in that the far right want rid of. 

I did think after the election Labour would be put under pressure to deliver and gaps would appear in their approach and people would start to drift to the Tories.

The Tories are doing their best to stop this happening. Cleverly is taking his turn today. Suella wants to join Reform if does not get top job, Atkins just blurts out shit, everyone of them helping Labour.

It is as I’ve said a honeymoon period. Even though some posters seem to ignore that I acknowledged that. However there is a vast array of front bench talent in the Labour Party right now. And more or less none in the Tories. Hunt is their best and doesn’t want the leader role. They are a rabble and have been for a long time. If it wasn’t for Corbyn and the momentum losers they’d have been out of power for a long time already.

i do think folk should be responsible for their own behaviour and only have the kids they can afford - there needs to be protection for folk where life goes tits up - but until then, it serves no purpose turning out another generation of kids brought up in poverty

Agree on the highlighted, regarding folk who’s life goes tits up I agree support them for a year until they get back on their feet, after that it’s not my responsibility… it’s the have kids to sponge mob I’m not wanting to encourage, more than 2 kids get benefit will Only means more kids that they can’t really afford. Furthermore Labour go down that route and they’ll be out on their ear after 1 term.

As BB posted the other day, if wages increase then so does the price of goods. What is a decent wage? Someone was saying on the radio the other day £15 PH should be the minimum wage, how would that be possible in the current climate?

Well considering the processing of applications is actually having some strategic thought behind it now, either deported or allowed to claim asylum. Offshore processing, processing people from recognised safe countries first to send back quicker if criteria not met, more money in boarder security, looks like there are actual plans in place.
