Got your council tax bill yet Mo?

Of course they ended up 'fucking up' as you put it. Wet lettuces don't come any wetter than Rishi Sunak.

Rishi was indeed a bit wet, sadly though the damage was done by Johnson, he's what did for the Tory party in reality, especially as he got rid of anybody half decent from cabinet. Sunak wasn't great and Truss absolutely was an utter joke, but we can all thank Johnson for destroying the Conservative Party

I've just had mine through the door, up 4.7% :( - nearly £3500 per year now.....and I still have to pay an extra £50, if I want a garden waste bin

Edit: and to add, we also aren't allowed to put glass in the recycling bin, we are supposed to take that to the local bottle banks. It's a proper piss take

That is proper backward. Who runs your local council?

It gets even better, as of next week, we also have to pre-book a visit to the local tip. No pre-book, and they'll turn you away. No doubt fly tipping will increase rapidly

There is no clear majority party running our local council, it's historically been a Conservative stronghold, but they've got a bit of a bashing of late, and a load of independents have taken their seats, Labour types really don't get a sniff around these parts

The Council is currently made up of:

  • 20 Conservative Councillors
  • 15 Independent Alliance Councillors
  • 13 The Central Bedfordshire Community Network Councillors (Including 1 Green Party)
  • 8 Liberal Democrat Councillors
  • 5 Labour Councillors
  • 2 Non-aligned Independent Councillors

We have been pre-booking at the tip for years and it is absolutely straight forward. No extra fly tipping in the area. Can’t see the problem. It gives you a guaranteed slot and helps the tip with organisation.

I'm quite relaxed about the 'garden tax' 😁

I don't see why someone in a flat should have to contribute towards me having my gardening refuse taken away?

I never go to the tip, I've never really had a need to, other than maybe once or twice in my entire life, so it won't affect me at all to be honest. The moaning I've heard about it though, from my neighbours, you'd think the world was ending.

What’s the lead time for a booking ? Sometimes I’m just doing stuff and end up with a need to go to the tip, don’t think I could put up with even taking my gloves off to book never mind being told come at 5 or tomorrow or whatever.

At the Atherton tip you have to show proof of address to use it

Looking back I actually think Sunak was a quite good chancellor, shit at the number one job but he wasn't doing too badly as the bean counter

pre-book a visit to the local tip

First I've herd about this... absolute crap, who do they think they are? All this recycling nonsense is giving them ideas above their stations... they are the worms of society at the end of the day, eating up all our crap.

Had a right set-to with a skip company last week about some plasterboard, they backed off when they realised they were going to loose over two grands worth of business... just driving away some tin boxes with plaster and timber crap in them

Not sure where you live but in Bolton there is no need to book. Visits are limited to 52 per year and car regs. are recorded. If, like yesterday, there is a long queue, the camera can’t read the plate.😊 I think 52 visits is enough for anyone.

Well they are a bit sad then. It takes a few minutes and you can normally get a slot a few days before. Just a bit of pre-planning needed which is not that difficult.

I suppose it depends on demand and how big the local site is. We can normally get one a few days before.

A few fucking days? Fuck that,  hope Bolton don’t start that carry on.

Thats no use whatsoever in my opinion. Where’s that mate?

Aye I know, I was asking Farrelli how long his takes where he is .
I live in a small picturesque rustic area called Breightmet 😄

Frequent visitor, think 52 is enough , just hope they don’t come up with this pre booking shite, and get the ops to tell dicks they don’t have to park outside the skip they are going to and stop blocking the road. Plus, stop asking what I’ve got at the gate , I know where to throw it and  telling people which skip causes the first issue. There’s big signs telling people.

think that’s all my issues with it 😄
