Quite ironic that decedents of the plantation, who arrived in boats and didn’t assimilate into the culture, took all the jobs and houses and natives  basic rights are now burning effigies of boat people they say the same of .

The bonfires have always been quite distasteful in the sectarianism, the KAT and other displays wouldn’t  be tolerated here I don’t think or in most places
There was an occasion were an orange man climbed up to the top of one to retrieve a statue of the Virgin Mary that had been stolen from a Catholic Church and returned it to the church and went public with his condemnation , a brave thing to do , showing there is a glimmer of decency and hope , but short in supply .

I've not Surrendered at all. I work and pay my taxes in the EU.

I'll be honest, I'm not affected either way.

The differnce between you and I is that you actively want the UK to fail. You've said, recently that you want Labour to crash and burn.

I find it odd that you are willing or indeed hoping the current Government fails.

By the way, I hope they're not in power after the next GE

By using the term 'surrendered' you know full well that I meant to the idea that Reform will win the next GE. You saying no surrender today of all days is very appropriate.

I more likely said 'expect' not 'want' based on years of experience of Labour governments. Labour, not the UK.

You seem to be developing the knack of talking tripe and putting words into peoples mouths.

I find you odd.

They won't be.

Think it was just a bit of laugh on some rough arse council estate. Not sure they're very deep thinkers :D

And we are all immigrants aren't we.

Yes

Burning effigies of politicians isn’t right either is it. I think it’s equally as bad. Interesting that you described BVs IDF chants as an ‘incitement to murder’ , yet the burning of migrants is just ‘distasteful’. Dear me 🙄

Now Whataboutery aside & back to the racist loyalists over the water. The way you’ve been rambling incoherently about two tier/multi tier Kier policing lately, I was half expecting the bonfire designers to be raided by riot police this morning. Whilst Bob Vylan is offered a gig at the Proms.

Turns out it has just been investigated in a similarly consistent way to Kneecap & BV were.

Funny that isn’t it. After a Glastonbury infused gammon meltdown, what we’ve really seen is consistent policing. Who’d have thought it?

Maybe we just need to accept that these things will happen. Whether it’s a punk band on a stage; some fella burning a Quran or loyalists being racist. That it’s only really something we can condemn rather than prosecute if we’re committed to free speech. Unless of course it’s a case like Lucy’s where it takes place during riots where people are acting on these kind of posts.

Either way, it’s a fine line between hate crime & free speech. Not easy to decipher, which is why I’m always surprised when intelligent people cry ‘Two Tier policing’.

I’m more inclined to think the IDF have done far worse than some migrants on a dingy. But that’s just my opinion 😊

Coming from a grown man who had a tantrum when an Irish rap group said some nasty words 😂

Also let's not forget that there are loads of easy targets for nutjobs to target in the UK. Not that many members of the IDF knocking around for them to target. Even if they really wanted to. Which they don't.

FTR I'm not arsed if anyone makes political statements during music concerts or festivals.

However chanting death to the IDF and more importantly River to the sea constitutes, for me, hate speech.

Didn't offend me in anyway so I'm not really arsed but you can't be bowling about at the worlds biggest music festival live of the BBC shouting shit like that.

At their own gigs fine.

Live to the nation. Nah, not for me.

Same if some dude started shouting death the Palestine or a song that meant that.

I'm not outraged. It's just not cricket for me.

* I'm really sad kids are dying in Gaza.

But blowing up starving kids who are queueing for food is cricket because Hamas might be standing next to them.

Some fair points.

No different to Ukrainians chanting death to Russian forces for me. I don’t agree with it or like his music & not every IDF soldier is a bad person. But people have been calling for death to occupying forces throughout human history. Just look at the behaviour of the IDF on social media if you want more of an insight

As for the River to the Sea. Not that simple at all for me. Interesting read below

I get all that. Fair enough.

But in this isolated incident of the UKs most famous festival and live on the BBC I don't agree with what they did.

I'd say the same if they were chanting death to isis or the wanger group.

That's it.

Obviously not, but you know what I'm getting at. It's undeniable that there has been more media outrage over some daft cunt shouting something at Glastonbury than there has about one of our allies blowing kids up for no justifiable reason.

I watched a big bit on sky news with the unicef dude yesterday.

The reporting of it is there but by Christ the presenters sit on the fence with it.

It's absolutely horrendous what's going on over there. Nobody in the media, well the main stream media, dare throw any blame.

It's all a bit mad really.

It's causing the even the most liberal to be massively concerned.

I remember arguing till I was blue in the face with Miami and BGOE etc back in the day.

I was all for helping the Afghans and Syrians. I fully agreed we needed to let them in.

Since those the whole system has been hijacked for profiteering all across the network.

I see it with my own eyes. It's not fear. It's real life.

It's well, well beyond helping people now. It's a tidal wave of people out for what they can get or what they've been promised and there's a giant network of people on all sides making a hell of a lot of cash from it.

The cultural and social problems are a by product but fuck me those problems are snowballing out of control.

So much so we aren't far off a fully right wing government.

It's at tipping point.
