So why aren't Labour investing in those towns rather than carrying on where the terrible Tories left off?

Again - how do you tackle ingrained issues going back to the 80s such as privatising public transport, lack of private investment in 18 months?

You cant.

Expecting the country to change overnight is foolhardy.

Again, legislation, and politics is long tail boring stuff.

Hmmm, im not so sure. I think its a vector for other issues.

People are right to be angry. Its the focus I question.

This kind of mindset is by now well out-of-date

There's no complexity to it; it's not misplaced anger and it won't be alleviated by greater investment in town centres

Instead, it's straightforwardly cultural

The country by and large might begin to realise this in the years to come, when the housing of migrants starts to occur in more affluent places but for now see the reaction from the residents of Altrincham to the arrival of asylum seekers in their area

I think its out of date it terms of politics, people need a narrative but as I say, and have you have just demonstrated, its basically problems we've stored up.

Thanks.

Anyone that says they'd be happy with that lot moving in next door is talking utter fucking shite.

It never was but many of these councils had no other options when they had to keep basic services running.

Again we've stored up these problems for years, and immigration has been the tinder to ignite public feeling.

This is just nonsense.

It's just words that don't actually mean anything.

You can show how you intend to turn round issues stemming back to the 80s. These things will take time granted but there's been no proposed ways of fixing the many issues the country faces.

What are you on about? Its just honest, basic facts. I'm not offering an opinion.

I know - and thats the frustration as they are doing this but not communicating it well enough. Believe me, im just as annoyed as you are at this.

Telling BP et al that they can have licences based on their profits should be based on reasonable levels and be taxed to try and recover some of the multibillion profits they have taken as opposed to the Norwegian model is the only thing I can see can be applied

Thats a bit Bolty-esque to be fair.

Its high handed and these are your fellow country people - if we dismiss we all lose.

They might be my "fellow country people", but that's probably the only thing I have in common with them, and they deserve everything that's coming their way. There's nothing I can do about it, so I might as well laugh at them.

A man - "I'm not happy that 300 Asylum Seekers are moving in to my area"

NIC - "No it's not that you're unhappy about, it's poverty and a back dated issue"

A man- "No it isn't, I'm unhappy at 300 Ayslum Seekers moving in to my area"

Nic "No it's not that. Council had no other choice to keep basic services going or something. Your anger is misplaced its poverty you're unhappy about"

A man- "No, I am just unhappy 300 asylum seekers are moving in to my area"

Do you not think this is why we get these divisions?

DEFINITELY not millions, but some serious numbers there when this aerial footage shows the entire length of the demo

When I ever disavowed erm..'a man'

Be angry at the system then, do more, be active in local politics, just dont stand outside hotels shouting as it achieves nothing.

It’s easily measured. They know how long and wide the roads are.

He’s a dick for insisting it was 3 million.

We can just leave it there, really.

No, I don't think me laughing at thickos has caused any divisions.

Totally agree on that, nowhere near 3 million, but hell of a lot regardless

I think calling people thickos might though.

We arent talking about people shouting at hotels. We are talking about your view that this isnt a societal issue plus another load of waffle.

People are angry at the system.

That's why reform are making headway.

You want the average person to start getting active in local politics to change things?

How about our elected government gets a handle on things before they are voted out for not doing so?

He's doing that thing again where he thinks he's better and more informed than the average man in the street that's unhappy with migration centres on their doorsteps.

He knows better than them that the wider cause for their angst is stored up problems.

He knows better than that swathes of people that can't wait to vote reform because they are unhappy at the current migration crisis.

He knows better than everyone.

People shouldn't moan they should be out cavansing and acting in local politics.

Never known a single human being so out of touch with reality in my whole life.
