Just had a pint with a bloke who made £3million last year selling houses to be turned into HMO’s.

He’s taking delivery of a new yacht this weekend.

He should be PM. Cheese would like him because he’s helping asylum seekers, Bolty would like him because he’s a massive capitalist pig, and I like him because he bought me a pint of Korev lager.

Truly a man of the people.

Korev? You’re easily fooled. NiC in marketing will be pleased

Seems genuine, sincere and committed to the job.

The snake that is the civil service union would probably knock that out of him if he got the top job mind.

Happy with that. 👍

From a 'big brother is watching' perspective, I have my doubts. They already have too much data on individuals IMO.

Starmer is a prick but nowhere near the grifting shithouses Cheese mentioned.

We agree on something! Starmer is nowhere near as good as those Cheese mentioned.

Wonders never cease.

Spider was obviously at his local Labour Party get together.

Looks like the penny has finally dropped with Starmer/Labour on immigration, what with the ID card announcement and what looks like the focus of his conference speech today. Should have been on Day 1 of course. The issue of our time. Really hope he can deliver now on “stopping the boats / smashing the gangs” etc as well as community renewal for those places badly affected so far. Real solutions please to take away Reform’s oxygen and ensure we all avoid their toxicity and lunacy.

You’ve got 4 years mate.

Agree on most of that apart from the Reform bit. Their popularity has got us here imo. Saw this on the BBC site this morning.

Writing in the Telegraph, the prime minister says Labour shied away from people's concerns about illegal immigration for years, and his party must tackle "every aspect of the problem"

The problem has always been that anyone highlighting the problem has been labelled as ‘far right’ or ‘thickos’ or worse.

How do folk who aren't allowed to work in this country manage to work for these big companies anyway? Can understand flying under the radar at a car wash or something...

Are there zero checks.. no deterrent or big fines for said companies??

Agreed…..on reflection if Reform/Farage help the main parties get their act together on illegal immigration then (even) I will applaud them for that.

Also agree with the bold - I definitely don’t blame normal folk for being attracted to Farage’s &SYL’s dog whistles.  I can understand. They need to see though that those guys offer no answers to the country’s problems.  Just division, unrest and economic ruin.

I'm not the one shutting down any form of debate calling anyone with issues as racist or thickos or in Nics case telling them it's something else or backdated they are actually angry about.

I totally accept the issue has been hijacked by people, from politicians, news outlets and indeed thickos wanting to blame anyone else but themselves for their impoverished state of living.

I used to think like you and NIC, I spent years on here rowing with BGEOF and Miami etc. I couldn't see what they were on about.

Now I can because I work in an area where it's having a massive effect and it's all happening really quickly.

NIC is trying to tell folk the issues are not societal, I'm saying he's massively out of touch for saying this.

I think that's quite clear. I used to be the same.

If we are simply comparing you and him then you are indeed the only one who lives in the real world.

My doubts are how it will be operated but I’m happy with the principle. Obviously, most European countries have them and it works well for them but they have had them for years.

Therefore it could/should be ready for us to implement. I'm sure we'll find a way of making a pigs ear of it though. I still don't know why it wasn't brought in years ago when first brought up

What a coincidence that your eyes were only opened when Far Right propaganda was ramped up to extreme levels just over a year ago.

Just looking at the opposition to it online from all parties and it makes me wonder if it will get through this time also.

I honestly don't know what there is, other than maybe the cost, that there is too object about. Although no doubt it'll be the usual dicks who are concerned about "Big Brother" and the such like. Most people have a passport and/or an NI number, so it's really only an extension of that surely

It would be better if your passport and driving licence was all part of the same ID

100% it would. I'd also be for DNA being taken at birth, and that info combined on the same ID as well.

I haven't moved away. Grew up in poverty on a council estate, and I still live amongst the scutters and thickos. Always will, because it's home. But fuck me it's sad to see the people around me taken in by shysters like Farage and Tice, and previously Boris. Also Trump to an extent. It's felt a bit like Invasion of the Bodysnatchers since 2016. It used to bother me, but I just laugh at them these days.

You come across a very bitter individual.

Whilst you're peeping out your window and laughing at your community ... Have you ever thought it's you with the problem?

Or are you actually that thick ... like the others you judge to realise it?

The only bit I disagree with is not blaming people for falling for it. It's a bit like someone who keeps falling for the same scams. At some point you've just got to accept they're thick as fuck, and laugh at them.

Big doubts here also

Huge new bureaucratic department.... 60 million or so to process. Believe it or not we don't all go around constantly connected to our phones.

Open to hacking and fraud, a teenager will be able to get into it.

Only effective way would be to tattoo a code onto your forehead or insert chip like a cat or dog... then we can have the equivalent of ANPRS.

Illegals will get around it by sharing phones or cards, in answer to the earlier comment, Big employers sub contract to agencies run by fellow immigrants so that will still be wide open.

I haven't done anything to make their lives worse. They do it to themselves. 🤷‍♂️ Might as well have a chuckle.
