We aren't far behind the yanks in people voting for someone that sounds good on the telly.

Even if starmer wanted out and burnham wanted in, good luck finding him a constituency

Which is why you get daft debates now about taking a £10 bet if people are eating Swans in the royal parks 😵‍💫

Housing, Food bills, ulitilty bills, education costs, future employment opportunities outside big cities, costs of transport....

Nah, lets talk about people cooking birds and frying Carp.

It'd be a shit show. Reform would pile into the area - it'd be all the media would talk about for weeks and we're back to this whole leadership nonsense we dont need as a country.

Im not a huge fan of how Starmer seems unable to manage a narrative but I just dont think this is helpful so soon into a term with a huge majority.

Boris Johnson was voted for*, because he was "amusing" apparently . Fuck all talent, a proven liar, and no policies as such. Eventually he was proven to be absolute dogshit

Ive still to meet a Reform voter who can go through their policies and which of them they support.

Other than - Nigel will sort it.

The way the current public mood seems to be, they only need the one policy, which is to stop the small boats. The average Reform voter isn't interested in any other detail/policy at present.

He's going to sort Immigration out..

How?

By stopping immigration

How?

By sending them back and stopping the boats

How?

By Kicking them out and turning the boats round...

H... Ok. Thanks

They'll only start caring when he properly fucks them over, like Trump has done to his base. It's going to be hilarious.

And when you say, ok say tomorrow we'll have no small boats coming over, how is that going to improve your life, your food bills, the educational opportunities for your children, your mortgage.

Its a perceived placebo for so many other issues. That isnt being dismissive of the issue, its that there are other issues to be sorted to help the people of this country first.

Personally, Id like housing to be sorted - to start really building more affordable housing stock, more houses built for older people to move into in the areas they have lived all their lives to create more housing for families and higher education to be looked at so bright kids from working and middle class backgrounds arent being stopped achieving their potential due to unpayable debts so they can do what my generation did and move out of home at 19.

Stopping small boats doesnt solve these issues.

I also understand that these are my personal top social issues. There will be others.

Its not, its going to be really sad and, like brexit, another bit of self harm.

I know, simple questions and basic answers. Ive said this at my local party meetings, why arent the government making this case. People arent stupid, they will listen but giving the vacuum for Reform to dive into is just daft.

We aren't the US, we are overall a moderate country when it comes to politics - much more so than France or Spain. I'm frustrated that the Greens can make a coherent case than the Labour party at the moment.

Blimey - are you asking for a manifesto or a post 😄

Wasn’t A lot of what you mentioned in their previous manifesto? If so why isn’t being delivered?

The world we live in. All soundbytes and bullshit. Campaigns built on "look at them dickheads, don't vote for them!"

We're not as bad as Mur'ca but we're getting there!

It doesn't help that we now have "leadership debates" before general elections

As if any of the candidates are running for President

The ones were the very minor parties are included and there's about seven leaders there is farcical

In a year? I like the white papers on affordable housing, education is tricky and wasn't contained in the manifesto to the level I personally wanted, but you have to make peace that there are other issues to be looked at first.

See, its a complicated thing running a country. Looking for simple fixes isnt how its done.

Would i think the Conservatives would do better, not in their current state, have I heard any actual realistic policies from Reform, not yet.

But...you can be active with the activists or sleeping with the sleepers 😉
