The gay adoption thing is a tricky one imo but if the parents are 'fit' then it could be better than many alternatives for the child.  How it may affect their psychology and sexual compass is open to debate i suppose.

 

I actually think Bolty has a point re. the breakdown of marriage and effects on society.  Not sure if gayness has any influence on that tbf but stats seem to show in the west that those who herald from more 'traditional family' units and may have religious upbringings tend to be more successful and happy.  I offer successful black communities in the USA compared to those heralding from ghettos as an e.g.

Going off other mammals though you may find the opposite, in that maximising breeding is generally better for the mammals' survival.  It's just that we're quite 'smart' in comparison and so can eek out our existence that bit more.

 

Some folk are just gay though.  You see it in all cultures I've seen (although it's more hidden in some) and some would never get aroused by the opposite sex.

 

A biologist would deem that as an abnormality (in less PC times) but yet, it still recurs in our, and other, species.  I'd hesitate to say it's freakish but unless it serves a purpose that is of benefit you'd find it odd that it still recurs in any species that thrives.

All my exploits in meditation and mindfulness seemed to show me that the 'me' part I relate to in reality does fook all . . . other than react to things that happen instinctively.

 

So, yeah, possibly, I could go for that.  That said, if you have enough clarity of mind you can override these responses.
