  • The usual Casino retort. Do you really think this gives you some sort of moral high ground? "Look at me, I am the greatest anti-racist"?   I can't think of one other person on here who would even th

  • If China stops supplying the North Koreans with oil then the regime will be finished within a month.

  • There is a type of person, usually white, middle aged, male and working class, who suggest dropping a nuclear bomb every time there is a global political issue.

North Korea does have vast untapped mineral resources.

Just saying.

sounds like the plot to fern gully Avatar

but..

the great leap forward were tried 70 years ago.

if someone were to steal their hypothetical resources , someone wouldve stole all chinas pigiron while they were all starving to death ?

a cecil rhoades type wouldve done it back then , i reckon.

and..

doing it for that *now* seems a gamble, like when china was hoarding all the rare earth metals about 5 years ago only for austrailia to mine the shit out of theirs.

im not saying the best korea wont get invaded or nuked , but , if it is itll be to protect guam or micronesia or wherever kim the 3rd was after bombing last month..

imo

You wouldn't be all for condemning 10s of thousands to their death if touched you or yours

And don't give me any bollocks that you would

Blow up Korea, blow up the middle East

It's as pathetic as it is predictable

Fcuk me, you go spare when a handful of innocents are killed by isis supporting crackpots yet you'd be happy to see loads of innocent Koreans wiped out

And no, I haven't a clue of how is best to deal with em, but at least I'm big enough to admit it

Just ignore him he'll go away or be assassinated Kim not Bolty.

BOTH

I'm reading a book on North Korea at the minute. What a bleak place, the poor citizens have been treated like shit for decades

Does it give any clues about how the recent World Student Games had the following gold medallists:

USA 16, North Korea 12, China 9, Italy 9, Iran 8, Germany 7, Poland 7, Ireland 1. (GB 0)

It seems to me that while many of the population are in dire straits the position is exaggerated by Western media.

Nuclear weapons aren't cheap. Priories.

Hot-house the best 1% of athletes not long after they're out of the womb and sod the rest.

This is the moral dilemma. War always kills innocents. Ultimately, if it came down to it, I'd rather thousands of theirs to potentially millions of others.

Hopefully, those in the know will know perfectly well, if and when military action is the only option.

There's absolutely no way whatsoever that Kim Jong Fun (see what I did eh?) would launch a nuke. Not a chance.

They simply want to make themselves a country that no one can invade or take on.

They've no oil, so I don't see the US doing anything more than making threats.

It's been like this for 40 years, it'll be the same for the next 40.

This ????????

By the time of the Cuba crisis JFK had sussed out that his generals were gung ho and over confident.

I think Trump has not got that far, and may never do so.

This is what Steve Bannon thinks

'Until somebody solves the part of the equation that shows me that 10 million people in Seoul don't die in the first 30 minutes from conventional weapons, I don't know what you're talking about, there's no military solution here. They got us."

And he makes Bolty look like Mary Poppins.

Exactly

It's stalemate.

has anyone considered that North Korea might not be a threat to anyone and simply because they still live the Orwellian lifestyle that we can just leave them be?

I certainly never felt threatened by them.

You never know, maybe they just want to be left alone.

Kim Jung-un has seen what happened to Colonel Gadaffi after he gave up his nuclear weapons programme so i think the world has to come to terms with a nuclear armed North Korea.

Hardly the most cheering thought for a Sunday evening but I think climate change will be causing many more problems in the years to come.

Very good point

Raises a question though

Do the people of N Korea want to be left alone? Or would they prefer to be "rescued" to be able to enjoy "freedom" and a "Western lifestyle" like their Southern counterparts?

WTF? Is it rag week? FFS, just what are you ranting on about?

Go on then - show me where I have said any of the things you accuse me of. I do recall suggesting that Seoul would have to be evacuated some weeks/months back when this was being discussed elsewhere and we concluded that this would not only be impractical but that the fat madman would be aware and might start firing anyway.

Are there lots of those mushrooms up your way?

You're the pathetic, predictable one with your fawning tacit support of Middle Eastern terrorist organisations FFS.

And he's right. Don't tell me you are into Walshaw mushrooms too?

And he's right. Don't tell me you are into Walshaw mushrooms too?

I know he's right.

That's why your plan to take out the fat wee nutter is total bollocks.

Again.

See the pattern?

I know he's right.

Mick - I do see a pattern.

What fucking plan!!!!??? "My" plan!? FFS. One of us is hallucinating and I don't think it is me.

I did say, however, that he has to be taken out sooner or later. This could be by an internal uprising (even Hitler just escaped one of these attempts at the Wolfsschanze) or China might even have do it by some sort of subterfuge.

You are getting as bad as you know who.

So you didn't suggest evacuating a city with a population of 10 million?

Righto, my mistake

So you didn't suggest evacuating a city with a population of 10 million?

"Suggest"? Read 'hypothesise'. Clearly impractical in both scale and the fact that North Korea would soon get wind, realise what was afoot and start shooting anyway.

What I don't get with you and yon mon is that your stance seems to be to fold up and give the belligerent little fucker all that he wants? The world learned decades ago that you can't back down to stroppy little troublemakers or they just continue to push it further and further. Sooner or later a day of reckoning has to come. It may come from closer to home than most would have imagined.

It'll be interesting to see what China does about all this, I wouldn't imagine they would be too happy with a US intervention and "invasion" - as they wont want the US camped out on their doorstep.

As mentioned above, North Korea apparently has many "untapped" resources, so this might be why there will be more interest than usual in this.

Ideally they need something to happen from within, but the folk of North Korea have so little and have been treated like shit for so long, I don't think they have the ability to affect change, unless they are assisted by an outside force. The top brass in the North Korean military, could get together and get rid of fatty, the problem is even the slightest whiff of mutiny and Kim has them put before the firing squads, so even they're probably shit scared of him. Even if some special forces got into North Korea, and managed to bump Kim off, who would fill the void....no doubt another lunatic

I've not got a clue what the answer is, even if we blockade all aid or support for North Korea, it won't affect Kim, it'll just further punish the citizens of North Korea, which isn't great either

I don't think there will be a war, or any missiles fired, as North Korea knows it would be simply obliterated within an day - and nobody want's millions of innocent North Koreans to suffer anymore than they already have.

Very good point about China. They certainly wouldn't want the US acting so close to them

I certainly never felt threatened by them.

I agree with most of that. However, its the Americans who are threatened by him, should they marry missiles with warheads. Similarly the Japanese. Not sure the Chinese would be enamored either.

America has promised to protect those nations nearby and that makes it more complicated.

The MAD situation has helped preserve peace between the superpowers, and hopefully the situation would be the same with North Korea, however the prickly issue of them launching missiles over neighbouring countries isn't helping

Very good point about China. They certainly wouldn't want the US acting so close to them

Russia also has a short border with North Korea, southwest of Vladivostok.

And Sakhalin island is close to Hokkaido and the path of the previous NK test missiles.

If China stops supplying the North Koreans with oil then the regime will be finished within a month.

and they'd get millions of refugees in return. Not going to happen.

Now China hosting peace talks between USA and NK - maybe.
