Indian Takeaways.

Following on from a few comments on the Lostock thread.

I reckon a lot of us enjoy a good Indian. Now I do have my own favorite ,The Balti Taste on Market St Westhoughton. The food is excellent and I have never had a bad dish. This Indian is flanked by 2 others within 20 yards , so it is not just handy to get to.

But I would have no problem visiting others that have been recommended.

Favorite dishes.

Lamb Kharahi.

Tandouri Chicken.

Also enjoy a good Bhuna.

I suppose you don't hear many asians saying "Shall we go for an English" Unless it's a grooming gang of course.

I take it he means Mahabharat in Hindley?... It's my favourite curry house, an old Wesleyan Chapel. Anyone remember the name of the one near the sex shop on St George's Rd? That was top notch. Robert Carlysle was in one night when we were there.

Sunar Gaw?

??? where

Little tiny cafe in Manchester. Just behind Piccadilly.

36 back Piccadilly. Tiny has about 10 seats

Used to 2/3 times a week when worked in mcr. It’s no frills very authentic. Very very good

Tried this and that cafe in NQ the other week. Very nice food and portion size for less than £5 for some dinner whilst shopping in Manc

Chicken karahi , chicken/lamb spinach and the chicken tikka masala. All superb

Bindi gosht as well is excellent. To be honest I’ve never had a bad curry there. Took 10 home take away for the freezer on last visit. £5per portion.

Not even thinly veiled.....I'm just about to bugger off to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks. I'll hopefully be feasting on plenty quality curries over the next fortnight

Worth it though just for their tea.

Spice Island, Tong Moor Road is as good an Indian as you will get.

It’s a fair drive for me but in the past I’ve ordered a lot and froze it.

Great food and some unusual dishes.

Went in there once and there was a rack on the wall with a good few Bolton programmes from the late 90s in it. They made a good read whilst wolfing a curry down.

Didn't get the shits (no more than any other holiday where you eat and drink copious amounts for two weeks)

Only ate meat in what looked to be reputable restaurants

One place looked ropey so went with the veg option and turned out to be one of the best curries I've ever had

Do I bollocks....I'm nearer to Cambridge than that there London place

You'd be hard pressed to find anybody with dark skin where I live (apart from the Post Office and Curry House owners)

Best Asian food you will ever eat at maharba although you should be keeping it quiet so it doesn’t get overrun

Every time I’m back home I make sure I go. Absolutely outstanding place

Agree fantastic, regular visits when I worked round the corner in Piccadilly. Get there early for a seat if you want to eat in! Been meaning to call in for ages.

Was another rice and three we went to somewhere near port street. Not sure it had a name just a door that led to an old 'disco'complete with thick artex and dj booth in a basement but amazing food.
