Been on a couple of stags there in the last two years, but I imagine not much is that scene is of relevance... Am going again with the Mrs and little one in a couple of months, so also keen to hear any tips.

 

Barrio Alto is definitely lively at night and there are some good places to eat there too earlier on in the evening.

 

We had a nice (informal) brunch at the Time Out Market, where there are loads of food outlets. Would definitely recommend that.

 

The city is quite hilly, which makes sight-seeing walks tiring. It might be easier when it's not as hot. We did a Segway tour, which we really enjoyed. That was an easy way to avoid the climbing.

 

I'd also recommend "Park Bar" (I think that's it's name). A rooftop bar at the top of a multi-story car park (in Barrio Alto). Quite trendy and worth a drink there - don't be put off by the lift! Gets busy in the evening.

I've not been for 3 years! Porto next for me. All of the above really, it ain't a massive place. Watch your valuables in the centre.

Barrio Alto and Alfama are probably the best places to go out / stay

 

do the bus/tram hop on/off doings to the castle and the massive statue, doesn't take long to do all the routes

 

if i was going again I'd definitely do a day trip to Sintra and was disappointed I'd not heard of it before I went last time

The castle is worth a visit, up the hill, great views. Visit one of the Ginja shops for a cheeky livener, head down to Belem, visit the original pastel shop, the momument to discovery, the monestary etc.

Depends on the sights. Churches, museums and the like can feck off, most other things are fair game

Think everyone I know done Disney land with their kids except me id rather have a snorkel and look at fish than fuck about on a fun fair.
