I could really relate to it growing up in Smithills. Couldn’t even walk down Halliwell without being stop and searched for my penny sweets. These postcode gangs ain’t nuffin’ new.

Too hard to pick a favourite but this gem from Scroobius Pip is up there

White Lines and Drop it Like it's Hot off the top of my head

 

Used to really like De La Soul but guess that's hip hop not rap.

 

Loved this mainly for the steel drum melody 

 

 

My ex always said Nelly looked like he had smelly bits 

Early Run DMC and Public Enemy stuff was good but it all went a bit shit after that

Same thing really, they were part of the "Native Tongues" collective along with A Tribe Called Quest and Black Sheep etc..Definitely more lighter than some of the other stuff about around that time.
