If someone had offered me Bolton to be in this position at the start of the season I’d of snatched their hands off, given Wigan’s steam rolling of the 1st Div then relegation. Get a result v Burton a

Fact of the matter is, performance wise & results wise over the course of pretty much a full season we have got exactly the same from 5 months with Madine and 5 months without him. That’s not real

which is what im on about

but the reason is, because the players cant play a different way apparently rather than Parkinson being unable / unwilling to adopt a different style.

honestly, my head hurts

Me too. Given the attacking players we have, I'd say it's patently obvious they're not capable of playing hoof ball to any degree.

More obviously suited to stuff on the floor.

If he wants to do direct he should have got the players in to do so.

With you all the way bc.

You are lucky to have him as manager, the sooner you acknowledge what you are and where you are at, you will become more realistic in expectations.

The players you have are such low level, they cant play any other way, not sure what you expect.

You are no longer a prem club, thats all in the past.

Parky is the best you can get.

have you cut and pasted that from the allardyce topic?

You and Mounts in partnership - fancy having a go. We'd be sensational.

Dream team that, my flamboyant attacking style, and his big british defence.........

And I'm calling bollocks on that. You seem ingrained in your view so I'll leave it there. But we just have differing opinions - it happens.

He does.

He trains the players every single day.

Some players don’t like it. Some players don’t respond.

Some players pull their tripe out and do their best.

It’s really not hard to see.

even when madine was here he brought attacking players in Buckley lad from Everton and signed noon on a 2 year deal which was bloody crazy with the amount of times he’s used him

Then gets clough and walker on loan

The guy just baffles me no end

No mate you're not the only one. I went to see someone the other day who was a former employee of the club and a dyed in the wool white. He's been very poorly not so long back, but he had no idea who we were playing. Lost his interest.

I was chatting to his wife and I said for me this is the worst I can remember in terms of quality/entertainment or whatever you want to call it. I know it was a long time ago but I'm convinced we played a more attractive game in the fourth division.

She agreed entirely. I know it's about opinions and others feel differently but I hear you!

Has anyone else come to the conclusion that we are just not very good

its completely about opinions and there are many ways to win a football match. last season our current approach worked. This season when we had the players (player should i say) we kept with it and had less success.

Now we havent got the player* but are still trying to do the exact same thing.

for some to legitimately believe that a manager and his players operating in the 2nd tier of English football cannot change turns my head upside down

6 in 34 at Barnsley in this league. He's scored goals for two clubs at league one level. Lets get this straight.

As for Clough and Walker, what were they doing at Notts Forest another club in and around our level in this league?

Barnsley also played him in wide midfield

You and Mounts in partnership - fancy having a go. We'd be sensational.

I’ve enough on my plate coaching Charnock Richard under 13s mind you half of my lads got better technique.

The problem is you don't seem to take into account the quality of our players. We went down with a better squad with more talent in it than this one. We're not full of talent at this level. Your argument seems to be that success or failure is entirely down to the manager. Have you considered that we're punching round about where our quality should?

Do you think Parkinson is signing these players?

Do you think Parkinson is signing these players?

this is an old debate nobody knows

No, but the fact most of our signings spend more time sat down than stood up suggests Parky wasn’t rubbing his hands together at the prospect of working with them. When you couple that with agents running the club I don’t think getting two and two to make four is a massive leap.

I don't

i watch us week in week out, Trust me when i say this i know the quality of players we have.

harping on about the squad we had when we went down is irrelevant. the club was rotten to the core, from owner to manager to players. wasnt an ounce of fight in them. they knew and we knew what the club was resigned to. all the ability in the world counts for nothing if you dont want to work hard, fight and show some spirit.

credit to Parkinson, apart from a few performances you could not claim the players we now have lack the above. you seem to think there are 2 options. a free flowing football team or a rigid clogger unit who grab results from nowhere. no in between. well there are inbetweens up and down the land. and thats what we are asking for. no more no less at this particular point.

for the umpteenth time, for you to suggest that the players we have are not capable of playing that inbetween solution defies belief

and my argument isnt anything of the sort. However with the way we are currently playing & the success (or lack of) that we have had from it if the worst does happen then the person solely responsible will be the manager who has failed to pick a side to obtain enough points through whatever footballing method you wish to choose. the whole point is and you have said it yourself the squad is unbalanced. we're trying to play a way with players who dont fit it. so stop fucking playing it!!!

Whatever style of play you choose you need a strong spine that spine was weakened when Madine left, Alnwick has made a few mistakes recently, the 2 centre mids/ 2 centre backs not been both fit and at the top of their form for a good few weeks, none of that is PP fault and whatever formation he picks relies on that spine and at the moment it is made from jelly.

Can't help but feel a large part of our problem has been Henry and Pratley getting injured during the two week break...neither look as fit as they did previously in the season. I suspect both are carrying injuries. In fact Pratley was struggling most of the game on Saturday.

you may be right and if that’s the case they have stitched him up with some signings good and proper

If pratley wasn't fit he shouldn't have played. Could have fucked him over for more winnable games to come.
