We play atrocious football we don’t create anything we don’t score anything we concede school boy goals and the fight seems to have gone. I just don't think you get that swapping a 6'4"+ striker for a 5'7" striker but sticking with the same hoof ball tactics is slightly flawed. OK, we may be no better off with Madine but we'd have a better hope of converting some of those hoofs into goals with the taller guy.

 

As an aside, if we're insisting on lumping it up-field, how about we try aiming more towards the corners rather than straight into the arms of the opposition keeper? It may go out for a throw but it'll be far enough up the pitch to cause them more problems than it causes us.

For some reason there seems to be this, if we stay up he and the players deserve a lot of credit. But if we go down, he should be immune from criticism because of what’s gone on at the club, view

But having a replacement would have been hugely helpful too. Because as it is we have no real options up front and when you can’t break Birmingham down at home it shows.

We’re not good enough to open teams up like that. Few teams at this level are. We tried it a lot vs Brum and even yesterday. It’s not what we are good at.

Gary Madine could have done his cruciate in August, where would we have been then?

 

If your whole playing style is built around 1 player, then you're fecked if he gets injured, loses form or gets sold.

 

I appreciate he's not had much to spend or work with, but contracts to Darby, Noone and to a lesser extent, Buckley, could have gone towards another striker or centre mid
