No complaints, no whining, they've just got better players than us in every position. Our only hope of winning was another Villa performance of taking the lead & then defending like troupers ,but it was over as a contest after the 1st goal - another Alnwick mistake but it was probably only a matter of time - after which they were able to sit back & pick us off.

 

At least we've still got a chance & i'd have taken that pre- season.

 

One good thing....i was glad the police & stewards made sure that none of that shower of wolves cunts got onto our sacred turf.

As much as looking at Alnwick for the first goal, I’m more inclined to wonder where Wheater and Flanagan were to deal with the rebound, closest mon was Morais which shouldn’t be expected of him.

 

Thankfully they declared at 3-0 but even then the goal difference might come back to haunt us.

We know we deserve to go down, even our wins have generally been undeserved, but we didn't deserve to go up last year, it's not really about that, we just want to get the couple of points needed to stay above Barnsley.

Look at the teams going up from the championship, div 1 and div 2 (Accrington, luton). All those teams have had consistent, exciting, attacking seasons where their quality wasn't in doubt. Last season, we couldn't score to save our lives so many times, even against 10 men. But our centre halves scored some headers and fleetwood imploded and we finished 2nd, fantastic.

I like Robinson. Young lad on loan in a relegation battle, never hides, never shirks and runs his bollox off. You can't ask for more

Spot on the alternative is Taylor who just goes through the motions no passion at all

At least Robinson is fighting for a future in the game .He was up against Wolves best player today & got well skinned a few times but he kept going never hid.He needs to find a bit more ruthlessness in the tackle & he'll be ok.

Not sure why last season is being brought up, we deserved to go up as we finished 2nd. I’m sure at the mid point in the season we had the best defence in all 4 divisions and had something like 10 straight home wins. Whilst some of it was awful you can’t point at the teams below us like Bradford and say they were better over the course of a season

 

This seasons nearly been washed up and we are where we deserve to be (there or there abouts)

 

Our poor runs under Parky, when the wheels come off, tend to come straight after a transfer window when we have 4 or 5 come in and go out. It then takes a good while to settle back down

 

I didn’t go yesterday so can’t comment on how bad we were, I just hope we have enough to stay above Burton and Barnsley

 

I think Parky would benefit from things being more stable off the field, we need to try and get a settled team / squad rather than having dozens of loanees passing through. We need a few permanent signings with proven (recent) calibre at this level

 

Then again if you offered me a manager with better calibre at this level I would probably take that as well

Yes we looked dead and buried at one point. Yes Parky and the team have somehow performed miracles to even give us a sniff of survival since that start but what has gone on since the Villa win has been near unacceptable from them all.

 

Regardless of money spent (or lack of), formations, style of football - which I fucking hate, we had defied the odds and looked like we had squeezed ourselves over the line. But the clear ‘let’s make sure we don’t lose’ approach recently has got us back in the shit.

Parkinson sends them out with instructions on how to play. I am not for one second having he tells them all to play a certain way then from minute 1 they all fucking ignore him and bang the ball 80 yard in the air!! The players, yes they may not be the best in the league but have shown in our initial improvement they can play at this level. They just have no composure and sadly no fucking

We're in the exact position most would have taken at the start of the season (all things considered)

 

Whether we have to rely on other results or pray we can muster a result in the next two games, it was always going o be this way. What as gone before - as gone.

We don’t create much. But yesterday there were two balls into the box early on from Morais begging to be scored. Think Pratley missed one of them.

 

Take the Millwall game, ALF clean through and blew it. These are situations where goals might change games. Thing is our midfield scores nowt, neither do our wingers.
