Fact of the matter is, performance wise & results wise over the course of pretty much a full season we have got exactly the same from 5 months with Madine and 5 months without him. That’s not real

Gary Madine could have done his cruciate in August, where would we have been then?

If your whole playing style is built around 1 player, then you're fecked if he gets injured, loses form or gets sold.

I appreciate he's not had much to spend or work with, but contracts to Darby, Noone and to a lesser extent, Buckley, could have gone towards another striker or centre mid

Don’t forget we could only give out contracts with a maximum of 4K per week so I m not sure how many Championship standard strikers would be tempted by those wages....

We would not be in this position with GM.

Anyone who thinks we would have only got 1 point from 6 (not difficult) games with him is lacking in brain capacity.

That’s what happens when a business man is the owner.

KA doesn’t give a fcuk, it’s all about the bottom line.

If we go down I very much doubt we will come back either.

Some good aways mind.

It’s Ken’s job to worry about the bottom line.

It’s Ken’s job to ensure BWFC still exists.

He. Is. Doing. His. Job.

We’re not good enough to open teams up like that. Few teams at this level are. We tried it a lot vs Brum and even yesterday. It’s not what we are good at.

Not having any of that. The players we have cannot create a chance or two in any other way apart from lumping it up top? Absolute nonsense

We’re not any good at the style we’ve played all season so do we just accept it or try something else

Absolute complete and utter horse shit.

I like ken

But with forest a potential decider the decision to charge them prices is scandalous and one which will back fire if he comes out pleading for loud and proud shite

I agree, big mistake. A big crowd getting behind the team in what could decide which league we are in next season is vital.

We had mid table form from October to January. So not having that we weren’t good at what we were doing.

We were.

You need pace and power and someone in midfield who can change gears if you want to play through teams. We lack those things. It’s not even a debate. I watched us try to pass through Birmingham and go sideways and backwards because nobody is good enough to open the opposition up. It’s been the case all season and even last season.

Match report from Iles, suggests he’s got some serious criticism up his sleeve but holding back for now. Question is, would he really give the club both barrels in an opinion piece if we were to drop.

Load of hot air. He won’t say anything. Everyone is frustrated right now but not sure the club can be blamed. If anything he wants to look at the players. Why have they bottled it in key situations? Of course we aren’t very good but these players have a history of it. Nearly did it last season too.

Only 4 or 5 of yesterdays team were with us back end if last season

Fookin sick of moaning about Madine, if we hadn’t sold Cahill we’d still be in the prem and he wouldn’t have darkened our door.

How long are folk still going to bellyache? He’s gone, he ain’t coming back and nobody knows where we’d be if we still had him. Look forward for a change. Maybe giving Cloughy a game as a no 10 or Hall a last 20 mins might just nick us a goal to win one of the last 2 games.

We are starting to sound like a jilted bride, it’s not doing anybody any good

That's true by the end of the window but there were 3 contracts there, prior to the embargo, wasted on players who have barely started a game for us

People do realise Madine didn’t sign a new contract and handed in a transfer request don’t they ?

Perfect example yesterday of players having a shot when near goal. Afobe missed a couple but then his 3rd shot got deflected a bit (iirc) the keeper palmed it out and they scored.

Derby away, centre mid drove forward and tanned it for their third.

Nowt scientific. Buy a ticket and you stand a chance of winning the raffle.

Our shot count goes up, our goals do too.

That’s where Vela and Pratley have underachieved. Have a do.

Do we know whether Madine was offered a small increase more based on bonuses that the club knew he wasnt going to accept and make him the bad guy? Madine was easily POTY at that moment so for some idiots to say he isnt mised is unbelievable

Madine wasn't a world beater

We were doing quite well before he left

Madine wanted to leave

Anderson had no real choice than to sell

We miss him

Those denying his departure made us worse are the same ones who reckoned he was shit

So no surprise they continue being wrong

Agree Dave.

Who knows what a bit of freshness may yield.

We may yet get out of the shit with the usual suspects but having options can't do any harm.

Mid table on form because of Madines contribution yes. Pity the season started in August and he did fuck all from then until October

Yet from then we’ve insisted on playing the same way as without the talisman many think he was.

You seem to have this obsession on us having this fantastic midfielder who can break through the lines weaving his magic and tearing teams apart. Not many have that particularly at this level but there are teams who have a solid foundation who keep the ball, want to keep the ball and have midfielders who can create space and pick a 10 yard pass. They’re all sitting pretty around mid table without spending millions to get There!!! And if non of our midfielders can’t do that very simple role get rid of the job lot. Cos I’m telling you now there will be midfielders at clubs in and around us who aren’t playing or players in lower leagues who can

Expect and accept the shit you get and it’ll never change. Well I’ve accepted the shit we’ve got so far and it hasn’t got us very far in the grand scheme of things

Quite obviously we've missed Madine, our most important player in last season's promotion as was shown in the games he didn't play, & most important player to us this season as leading scorer, leading assists, creator of most of our chances & our only consistent attacking threat,

but...........in our financial position, we couldn't turn down £6m, it was a gamble worth taking ( we got away with selling Clough the previous January ) & at first it looked like we'd got away with it by scraping some results together. There's no point moaning about the sale now with the benefit of hindsight & seeing how toothless we now are, when it looked the right decision in January.

We know what we have been told. It didn’t make him a bad guy but you can’t make someone sign

If you’re in 2nd place after 46 games you deserve to go up

If you’re in 2nd place after 46 games you deserve to go up

Its just my opinion but I hear the phrase that luck evens itself out over a season but it's virtually impossible for that to happen, there are so many factors whether it's refs decisions or injuries or playing teams out of form or flukey, last minute goals etc. When we went down at stoke I thought that team deserved to finish above QPR, over the season, we were unlucky. Last year I just thought we had more than our fair share of fortune, and stumbled over the line. Hopefully it's the same result this season, a Burton 1st half sending off wouldn't go amiss like at port vale.

He was the focus of all our play so we were always going to miss him. He isn’t a World beater though. But you know this and for some reason are just argumentative at the moment. The way folk describe him makes me

Amazed he isn’t scoring loads for Cardiff

Once again.

Madine wanted to go.

If we had kept him (and upset him), and not paid him a huge increse that we couldn't afford (Which would then have massively upset him), do you really think we would have seen the same player ?

Any one who thinks we would is a massive plum.

Missing Madine is not the issue. Still playing a style that only works if he is there, is.

Nobody said it's finished, we will be doing cart wheels if we win 1 more game. But we didn't deserve to go up because we were awful for large parts of the season. Look at the teams going up from the championship, div 1 and div 2 (Accrington, luton). All those teams have had consistent, exciting, attacking seasons where their quality wasn't in doubt. Last season, we couldn't score to save our lives so many times, even against 10 men. But our centre halves scored some headers and fleetwood imploded and we finished 2nd, fantastic.

Luton began the league season moderately, winning, drawing and losing 2 each of their first 6 league matches.

In addition they lost at home in the first round of the league cup.

So while they've had a good season, and exciting, it has not been 'consistent'. A rotten argument.

That's true by the end of the window but there were 3 contracts there, prior to the embargo, wasted on players who have barely started a game for us

We were under an embargo for 4 windows, we didn’t know what the EFL were going to allow us to do from 1 day to the next. If we found a player willing to come to us we had to sign them and hope they would be an upgrade on what we had. We didn’t have a recruitment policy which I m sure all others had, it’s remarkable that we are the only club ever to get promoted whilst in an embargo and hopefully survive in the championship under restrictions.

For comparison See Portsmouth Coventry Luton etc...

That's all very interesting but still.... Boooooooo!
