Sweep
Knocked out 14.5km tonight at 6:39 a km average. I think I am dying Good Work Big E

Not in Crawley
Very decent Fishbulb. Was really close out there last night, did a 10km with a 4.33 per km, not my best but was really hard work in the weather - think I much prefer spring/autumn runs! Banking the miles over the next few days after 3 weeks of shorter faster runs.
fishbulb
Cheers. If anybody fancies having a dabble at fell running tonight we have got a race on. Nice course. Friendly atmosphere. Cheap ‘n cheerful. http://www.dashers.org.uk/events/aggies-staircase
Not in Crawley
Always fancied a bit of trail/fell running - would need the right kit though.
fishbulb
On a short course fell race you wouldn't need owt special. T-shirt, shorts, ideally trainers with studs but you could get away with road shoes if it was dry. You can get a pair of More Mile Cheviots for less than £30 if you want to try it without spending a fortune.

I ran the Bolton Hill Marathon last year in Road shoes, it was pouring down at the start but they were grippy enough. The only time I wished I had trial shoes was the stretch from beneath the Pike to where the road becomes tarmaced before the mast access road, feet with 18 miles in them didn't like the stony surface. Basically I think folk so just go out there and do it, don't be put off by shoes or gait analysis.
fishbulb
^ This. How did you go on last year, btw? I was talking to a mate from Horwich at start of this year's race. He won it in road shoes.
Not in Crawley
Fair enough, last tine I did a trail race in road shoes though it was a bit of a disaster slipping everywhere and they became heavy very quickly.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 21, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted June 21, 2018 Be more concerned with going over on an ankle fell running. I'll stick to hiking boots and a yomp.

Traf
Can you unscrew your foot and put a wheel on? Like those crippled dogs you occasionally see?
gonzo
Can you unscrew your foot and put a wheel on? I can turn it in to pogo stick as well. Save me using ladders.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 22, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted June 22, 2018 What have you done to get that gonzo, and what exactly is in there? Find it fascinating watching the supervet and seeing some of the ex rays he does. Perhaps he could fashion you a set of suitable tools as per sweeps idea.
