We were throwing away a load of food weekly shopping, and this makes it easier to try new meals, that are healthy with no waste - plus no more shopping.

its not cheap, but we do it for the weeks we’re not in/back late so we’re not just having takeaways - that way it saves money, we eat well, throw away less and save time.

Fair enough. I'd have thought it was just as easy (and cheaper) to get stir fry stuff etc? How's the running going? Are you going to go mental with it like MB and do an Ironman?

Work has been a bit busy since Xmas so it’s dropped off a bit - still doing 10/15 miles a week and 10k races every month or so.

didnt get into the great north run, so going to do a couple more halves this year. Would love to do more and a marathon, but I just don’t have the time at the moment, or I’d have to live like a monk. No Ironman for me; maybe when the kids are older! Still, it’s  keeping the blood sugar down!

Managed 3x gym sessions this week. A 25-min boxing session. And 2x 3.2km runs. Oh, and a 4km walk on Monday. Rest day tomorrow.

Think I'm going to have a crack at dropping the carbs again next week for a fortnight. Could be tough!

First c25k session done

Will be at the park run end of march

First week done, all pretty easy. 1 minute running is no great shakes

Week 2 starts Sunday. Think we are up to 90 seconds at a time

After a bit, I get bored and start missing runs. This time I'll just be patient

I hate running

It’s mental how all of a sudden you run for 20 minutes.

i did 9 miles mixed hills tonight. Good but I am fucked now

aye, somebody on the radio today

she had just done week 5, day 3 which i think is where it jumps from 8 minutes to 20 minutes

Swapping a Friday bacon sausage and egg barm for 2 boiled eggs and a banana is a bit shit.

Well, save the barm for your lunch eh? It's nearly weekend...

:(  ...no beer or bread this weekend. Or any of the next 3.

Got a Cadbury’s cream egg ice lolly thing for my Saturday night treat. Ace times haha

I'm off out for copious amounts of booze and dirty unhealthy food this weekend. Don't tell me gp as I've got high blood pressure apparently.

Done really well so far this year, after ditching beer at weekends for spirits and diet mixers, ditched a slice or two of bread with my evening meal, bought one of those packet of sandwiches for lunch from Tesco with less than 300 calories in it and when I get peckish, just snack on peanuts & raisons and I'm ready for my May holiday already, speedos here we come!

I notice that you carry your lunch around in your speedos.

its the weirdest feeling when you are still going on like 12 minutes and saying "fucking hell it worked"

Missed Park Run on Saturday and actually felt a bit guilty. Had family commitments. Managed to nip out prior to the commitment though and did a local 8.2km run. No great pace. 41 mins. Managed to stay off alcohol all day and evening.

Made a shit load of Mexican food yesterday (all from fresh ingredients) - guacamole, salsa, sour cream (well not really, I mixed mint & lime into some creme fraiche), chorizo & sweet potato quesadillas, chicken & sweetcorn quesadillas, ground beef & spring onion quesadillas, 3 cheese quesadillas (cheddar, Lancashire and mozzarella). Oh, and a nearly half a bottle of white wine. 2-3 hours of prep and cooking. And nearly another hour washing up!

Managed bike, boxing, weights and a lorra-lorra weighted squats and lunges this morning. Followed by a pub lunch - chips with fish finger butty (JW Lees pub, actually proper tasty food).

Back on it from tomorrow. Definitely going to plan 2-3 weeks of carb free eating with the odd "cheat day" thrown in.

(oh and been snacking on chocolate cornflake cakes with a mini egg on top!)

Second week 4 run earlier

So next week it's the killer

Might repeat this week :)

Quarter of my 2 stone target gone

And still getting away with a proper weekend binge

On a bit of a running session this week, out every day, 5k with hills down to 22 mins, half marathon booked for September and a few 10ks as well. After a slow start this year, feeling back up to speed again.

Great pace that. I'm a long way off sub-22 mins. Managed just over 23 mins on a flat 5km the other week.

Purchased some of those rubber bands for stretching exercise resistance. And a 10kg weighted jacket from Aldi (on offer!). Felt like Ahmed the Terrorist when I put it on!

Took a few years, don’t think I’ll ever do sub 20 - close once with 20.03 - proper gutted, but was on a 10k race.

Hill repeats are the key - do 5x sprint up then jog down a steep short hill.

Did 10k on the treadmill last week in 58 mins. Paid for it since.

Off the ale now for 2 weeks, need to get under 12.5 which is proving rather difficult :)

Under 12.5? Aren't you 6'2"?

Be like a bean pole.

Be impressive that.

i moved up groups last night. Hard work but feels better

After a week of all-inclusive in T'Egypt, eased myself back in this week.

Medium paced 6km run on Monday night in the rain. And then 10.28km on the roads on Tuesday lunchtime. Only nipped out to the post office to pick up a parcel but just carried on running. 56 minutes. Think I can get much faster but thigh, groin, knee and calf all started with twinges. As per Gonzo, paid for it since. Been stiff as a board all week.

Back to just walking now. 19000+ steps yesterday. Hoping for similar today. Ditched the car and walking/jogging/train to office. Made a conscious decision and cancelled parking spot at work - so its a lifestyle change - and means I've gone green in the process!

Aiming to hit 500,000 steps in the month of March for Cancer Research. Did start out at 10,000 per day, but didn't feel challenging enough. Now I've got to hit 16,500 per day. Anyone wanting to sponsor - send me a PM. Ta.

(PS. Managed a 10" pizza and a Yorkie bar for lunch).

About to go for my first run since Christmas. A good chance my season ticket will be going free for the Villa game as I doubt I’m going to survive.

Park run? Enjoy the stretch.

mrs e and I are doing the Mersey tunnel 10k tomorrow but both in bad fettle so not feeling it at the moment.

Anyone on here doing the rock and roll half marathon ?
