Of course a manager is going to spend money if you give it him, Nolan was hardly going to say “no, keep your money I’ll get promotion without it”. To be fair though I’m an outsider looking in, I’ve no idea how he actually got on there other than the stats, I know there’s a few Nottingham based lads on here who might know a bit more. I’m not at all saying he’s definitely the right person for the job but I think someone in that mould would be ideal for our “fresh start”, the fact he has the love from the crowd already would just be an added bonus.

The father in law put me on to this forum and certain statements made on here have come true. Totally agree with the statements about BN and Nixon, completely untrustworthy IMO. Just looking for likes on social media. BSA and KN would be good for the club, it would be a huge boost for everyone but I couldn't see them coming back in any capacity.

I know what you're saying but I'd say it's "one step at a time". There's a queue of very large clubs at the top of the Championship and we're not going to be jumping that queue. Slowly but surely. Step 1: Get back in to the Championship, Step 2: Consolidate in the Championship. It's 2013 since we were last in the top half at tier 2 level.

Good point and part of me agrees, but wouldn't the new owner/s identify a manager that would be part of a longer term project?

We had something like 50 guys behind the scenes under him last time, even if you had 20 on £40k a year it’s a million pounds a year that we don’t have Unless this new mob are chucking money at it, but then you have got FFP to think about - I doubt that will be our biggest concern though

Of course I was just making the point that where we ended up with him last time would be an expensive model to replicate in League 1 with only £10m turnover BSA did wonders here early on when money was tight but he had the hunger then to get on and prove himself If this software company is happy to give us services for free in order to use the club as a working example then they can crack on

Parky did a great job last time of getting us back up straight away but it was largely done on the back of experienced pros with several youth players being released and not getting a look in. Now would be a good time to look to build something sustainable with longer term benefits.

Certainly, some won't be up to it but you'll never know if you don't chuck em in. Like you say - probably best for another thread!
