Appreciate all the info, Howard. Take it easy, if that's the last we hear of you.

I'm sure everyone would appreciate updates in the final week of this takeover saga but if you're done with it now, I don't blame you.

Apologies if my comments contributed towards your departure. Skepticism is an inherent trait across the internet, so even when people are truthful they can still fall victim to it. Hope to see you back before April 2.

Come on you billionaire whites!

Nowt worse than a bully, behind a keyboard or in your face.

All Howard has done is give us some info that we didn't have before, made us a little happier and give  some hope.

The only thing I have seen chris do, is patronise Howard, maybe, just maybe chris isn't as clever or as understanding as Howard is.

Hey Ho, we all have opinions.

Thats the problem with anonymous contributors. Although we all have pseudonyms, most on here either know each other or know who others are. Had a couple of pints last week with members on here who I have differing opinions to but we had a laugh and joke about it over a drink (and in my case, a pork pie)👍

We didn't get in the same bar after the game (I say after, it was actually around the 70 minute mark) but went next door instead. I had one of their pork pies and can report that it filled a gap.

I may be right in saying that I was a qualified accountant before you were born, RRF, but, no matter, I would say that a lifetime's experience is more valuable in distingushing between the good, the bad and the ugly in the trades and  professions. A good tradesman or professional, in my experience, will invariably try to explain their intentions or reasonings in a cogent and logical fashion; a bad one won't bother.

The ugly are, I'm afraid, a more extreme division of the bad, but lets not go there.

Couple of points.

Well done on being older than me, give yourself a pat on the back and a gold star.

I'd add succinct to your cogent and logical. Why don't you give it a bash?

I won't be carrying on this conversation, but it looks like you won't be short of folk to bicker with if you wish based on todays showing.

I didn’t realise you were there. Would have been good to meet you.

In a way, that illustrates a point I made earlier. We are all fans first, bean counters second. Someone with a knowledge of M&A comes on and enlightens us all.

Not sure what the agenda is of Howard’s  critics but hopefully he’ll rise above it and stay.

We need Howard back its gonna be a big week coming up

Why don't you give it a bash? Because I've never been one for glossing over the facts, papering over the cracks or pulling the wool over the eyes of the trusting.

Each to their own.

I've questioned a couple of the things Howard's said previously, but people like Benny and the guy from 442 have in some ways corroborated what he's been saying.

In any case, you can remain skeptical without spending page after page trying to catch him out. We'll find out, to a large extent, how much of what he says has been truthful in a week or so, and it won't be as a result of some Frost/Nixon type interrogation in this thread.

And why don't you leave it the fuck alone, stop being pedantic.

I think what he is saying Chris to put this in a language that you will understand ( auditor speak )

Is that you come across as the Junior auditor ( probably an internal auditor in a large publicly funded body where commerciality does not matter ) who has no sense of materiality

And on the first day of being there you have found 17p difference in the petty cash reconciliation

As a consequence you focus on that 17p difference for the next 3 weeks you are on that audit and never actually resolve it and the £3 million pounds worth of stock that's gone missing remains undetected

I thought that the amount in question was £3million.

Have you figured out yet, Benny, that PR might mean something other than Peter Reid?.

P.S. I've worked in the private sector for all but 3 years of my working lifetime. Any other half-baked thoughts. Keep em coming.

We were sat at the same table pre-match in Wigan Central along with Casino, Djorkaeff, Undies and others.

I have had a few exchanges with Howard and I am quite sure he is no PR man

😊 The Fire Service Pension isn’t as great as I thought. I was going to give him 20p for a cup of tea. Only joking Micky. Glad to meet you.

Anyway, this Custard bloke. A KA plant?

If Howard knows as much as it appears, he's still useful  :)

and he needs to stick around otherwise there's no cinzano in the antelope, for him

True enough, though I'm not sure you can make him/her stick around even with bribes of Cinzano.

My two pennorth, Howard knows his onions and I am glad he has taken the time to share his knowledge. Just a few days ago I had serious doubts about my club’s very existence. Howard’s insight helped put my mind at ease. He also apppears to have much genuine “insider” knowledge. I very much hope he has a change of mind, continues on the forum and ignores those who grief him. He is good to have around. Come back fellow Wanderer.

This has gone weird. The lemon party turned sour.

Sidestepping the last few pages, Nolan's name wouldn't even be in the frame if he wasn't an ex-player and so that should be enough to rule him out - we need to make big decisions based on facts not sentiment if we are going to grow from a fresh start with a new owner.

I’m guessing that Howard's Contributions to WW has boosted  the visits and new members more than ‘that flag’ ever did.

For the right reasons this time in my opinion.

fwiw I'm not sure that Howard necessarily has insider knowledge. All I see are explanations of information that is (in the main) freely available but requires an explanation for financial thickos like me. Maybe he does though? But who cares? I've seen nowt that strikes me as bullshit. Maybe he's a WUM on the best fishing trip ever? If so, I'll happily buy him a bottle of Cinzano to say well done.

Wish he'd come back pretty sharpish. This thread is now like a leaking fish tank and all the fish are flapping around wondering what to do now

There you go again missing the point  entirely and focusing on the trivial

I said he was no PR Man

You're just too subtle for your own good, Benny

Who's going to get wound up most? WW by Howard; Howard by Chris; or Bolton by HMRC?
