I get the feeling that today is a case of no news is bad news.

Alternatively if the Wycombe game stays on it means they must be confident of it going through at some point.

Strange one. The official twitter posted a link for the ticket sales but then deleted it minutes later.

Wycombe still have their ticket tweet up though...

Certainly has been. ED's refusal to put us into admin in 2015 has been a catastrophic error.

Just bought a ticket, but can't see it going ahead.

Following extensive discussions with the Administrators of Bolton Wanderers, the ownership at Bury and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) over the course of the weekend some progress has been achieved in regard to the respective challenges they currently face.

However, concerns do remain and both Clubs are required to provide confirmation to the League’s satisfaction that they can meet all outstanding commitments.

To give both Clubs the maximum opportunity to comply with the request, a deadline of 5pm on Monday 29 July has been set for them to provide the EFL with the necessary evidence. The 5pm cut-off point replaces the noon deadline issued to Bury, which was confirmed on Friday evening.

If the information is not received, the EFL Board is likely to suspend the opening day fixtures against Wycombe Wanderers (Bolton Wanderers) and MK Dons (Bury) under the provision of EFL Regulation 28.2.

The EFL will continue to offer its full assistance and support to both Clubs in order to achieve the objective of securing long-term futures for them but with the season now a matter of days away there is no other option but for all outstanding matters to be brought to a conclusion.

I’d say a “suspension” would be seen as good news in some quarters

no doubt ignoring the impact it then has later down the line

Wont happen this game now I've bought tickets, fucking cursed I am sorry lads!

Odds are that the game will be suspended, just can’t see us getting over the line today

I pretty much think either the game goes ahead or its bye bye BWFC.

It is that simple. The takeover doesn't need full completion by 5 - the league simply need assurances that we can field a competitive team. Should that not happen and game is suspended you can add a much stronger punishment onto the -12 (+Brentford) we already have which will guarantee relegation and possibly incur longer lasting restrictions and penalties. Meaning a league two club will cost £25M (in terms of cash and debt) - potentially a club that will be hamstrung for years to come. Nobody is doing that deal.

So it is literally now or never. They can't say they didn't know this was coming. The first game deadline has been looming for the past month.

At the risk of looking a bit daft come 5pm, I still say this game will go ahead.

Couldn't really give a fuck about Bury.

I agree, bad news if the game is called off. Lets hope and pray we come up with something that allows the game to go ahead.

Well, FV have a hard deadline now after being in since the start of the year. I guess we'll find out what they are made of in next few hours.

If the game is called off does that mean a further points penalty do we think?

Yep. And a hefty one at that. Probably severe restrictions and monitoring for a period of 2 years also. I can't see FV allowing the game to be called off if they still intend to buy us - it just wouldn't make sense.

I hope it isn’t as stark as that. The Brentford game was cancelled. This game is under threat of suspension. I know it’s nothing to do with a waterlogged pitch or anything like that, but they do have the option to rearrange it. With Brentford it was end of the season and players were due to go on holiday which would’ve caused problems delaying the fixture.

Definitely still bad getting it suspended but maybe that’s just what FV want so they have more time.

Hopefully it does force something through today. Had enough of this carry on.

Going to be a mad refunding job going on if we don't play any fixtures this season, imagine buying a season ticket for lets say Sunderland, you've paid to watch 22 home games this season & two of them games are not to be played due to us & Bury. Be the same for the rest of the teams in this league. Don't know what the EFL would do in regards to that.

Who knows anymore. That we're still waiting on a Brentford decision astounds me.

If both clubs do start the season though what a skewed competition it'll be, only 1 relegation place to avoid for everyone.

Interesting. I saw Nixon post about the club getting monies this week which could be used to pay wages and get the game on.

I can't see that being the solution though as a lot of the squad registrations would be wasted on kids. It's now or bust for FV surely, unless I'm missing something obvious here.
