Sunshine doesnt bring people to the stadium.  It encourages them to do family things or barbeques.  The sun kept the attendance down today, I was there but it was so hot in the East Stand I couldnt wait to leave before my bald head got burned.

You've also got to remember many of the 11k crowds at the back of last season where nowhere near... STs skew every game in terms of tickets sold v through the turnstiles.

When Wolves were wank and getting relegated to Div 4 in 1986  they got 3,200 on at home to Bolton for a Saturday afternoon league match in February. That's how many will watch a garbage Wolves team, we've got about the same number

For me, the crowd was about right,  No certainty a week out the game was going ahead, playing a so called big team and a nice weekend - they were 1/14 for a reason - we realistically were never going to get a result.

lets be honest, there is only so much people can afford to go and watch a team of youngsters get beat.  Yes, they did their all - and really proud of them, but people find other things to do with their cash and lets be honest, if you have a family, it is throwing good money away at the moment.

hats off to all that turned up and supported (including me and junior), but this needs sorting asap.

 

Following up to Gonzo's comment earlier, one of the lads I go home games with only knew game was on because I told him on phone yesterday, and his mate didn't know at all until this afternoon. Neither go online, amazing how much you miss out on when you're not.

I have just an afternoon or evening off Twitter and I've usually missed something critical to do with club.

Does anyone know how much we get from Sky in League One for a televised game ? Just wondering if it's significantly more than the revenue we would lose from supporters giving the game a miss and watching it in the pub. Not just ticket revenue, but buying a pint and a pie etc.

It was £30k for the home team last season, I think.

That amounts to 1,500 paying adults.

There are lots of crap attendance figures you can cite from the 80s. It was a different game with most scared off by the vile druggy thugs.

I applaud every one of your attendees yesterday and understand those who stayed away. It was painful watching Argyle dying in front of you. Hopefully there is a medic about to rescue you and you don't land yourselves a profiteering charlatan for 7 years of austerity.

An old fella passed me just before kick off. Must’ve been about 85. One of those whose probably watched us for about 60 years. Hearing aid, walking stick, the lot. Everything appeared to be a struggle. He had an away shirt on and on the back he had printed ‘just believe’ 

had a wry smile to myself. Quite a poignant moment. And I just thought, well if he is. We all should. 

But it’s becoming increasingly difficult

That's a great point.  For one, the crowd figures are now 100% genuine, and its been about 20 years since that's been the case, apart from cup games.  Secondly, loads of us rolled up out of habit because we had a season ticket at plenty of games in the last few (terrible) years.  If we'd had to go to the trouble of arranging and paying for a ticket loads wouldnt have bothered.  And that's not just the case here, its at every ground from Wigan to Arsenal, crowds are artificial for league games and the cup games suffer because its seen as a well earned break.

Don’t forget that we get a central distribution from the EFL as part of the TV rights deal though so it works out much higher than 30 grand a game when you average it out over the season. 

Missed the game yesterday, down in London for the rugby cup finals (stupid enough to have pre-booked months ago in case Leigh got to the final). Bumped in to more than a dozen BWFC fans that would have otherwise been to the game, plus knew of a good few others besides - out of our group of what would have been 11 season ticket holders, 3 were at the UniBolt and 8 were at Wembley.

I don't blame people at the moment. It's an expensive business nowadays getting to the games. I was in the London Whites supporters club when I worked at Heathrow. On more than one occasion we got up North to find the game was called off due to weather. I seem to remember Swindon was one game, coca Cola Cup semi-final maybe ? I have a lot of mates who had to give up going due to the prices even when we were in the Premier League. I fully understand that the club needs money, but not everyone wants to spend cash watching the youth team get battered every week.
