That would make more sense Given 8 of 11 lads who ‘could’ have started were 20 or over! Lets hope the points deduction isn’t too heavy, going off the reaction of other EFL clubs, they will want blood though! As you say, might as well have a go at this competition, the new lads will need a run out / game time as well No brainier for me

If we look like staying up they'll hammer us. If we don't they'll give us a slap on the wrists and 3 points.

Not so sure. Interesting to see what happens. Other clubs certainly not happy now which puts further pressure on EFL to take "strong action".

It also wouldn't surprise me, of they've been talking with the efl during the protracted takeover.

I don’t think it’s too much to expect the league to make a decision regarding something that happened getting on for five months ago. It’s possible they’ve held off so as not to stymie the takeover process, which might be a good thing. They’ll have to make a call on whether to punish new owners for decisions taken by the previous regime and the administrators. Whichever way they’re going with it, sooner rather than later can hardly be too much to ask.

Given the league are supposed to be a representation of the 72, I do think that it will have an impact, especially as it’s a new punishment with little or no precedent. I would feel more comfortable if other clubs were more sympathetic to us than they have become since yesterday Your right regarding Brentford though, that should have been done ages ago! One things for sure, we can’t be punished twice this season. The Brentford punishment should be retrospective against last season, Doncaster against this season I’d snatch your hand off for -3points, However feel it’s going to be more like -6 / -9 Whatever it is, let’s find out sooner rather than later so we know where we are Edited September 3, 20196 yr by birch-chorley
September 3, 20196 yr Q Another 9 points, bloody hell. Condemned to almost certain relegation. Meanwhile, bury MP pushing for them to be reinstated into league two next season. Kinell, would seem little point in fv having worked so hard to avoid the route of bury.
September 3, 20196 yr big difference without FV we were being liquidated bury arent at that stage, yet amazing as it seems
September 3, 20196 yr On the 1st of each month I re-read "World Sports" from 50 years ago. It refers to a joint FA/FL commission which had revealed financial irregularities at 3 clubs during the 1967-68 season, and quotes their punishments for essentially similar breaches. 4th Division Port Vale: expelled from the league (but gained re-election anyway). 3rd Division Peterborough United: 19 pt deduction, which took them to 24th place and relegation. 1st Division Manchester United: barred from paying friendlies against foreign opponents for a season (but they were allowed to defend a European trophy).
September 3, 20196 yr Just now, Casino said: big difference without FV we were being liquidated bury arent at that stage, yet amazing as it seems Yeah fair point, but in terms of respective punishments a shit load more points now and we're fucked. Fv may wonder if it's best just to keep a skeleton squad and save until next year. I know it's not exactly plump now, but we're still going to be paying a wedge of wages.
September 3, 20196 yr Nixon tweeted about more points yesterday saying that the club had already been informed of the points deduction and will have time to appeal it.
September 3, 20196 yr So, confirmation it's the kids again tonight. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17877172.boltons-new-boss-keith-hill-gives-update-bradford-city-plans/ Not sure how we could get away with saying they weren't able to play Doncaster on a Tuesday 3 days after getting a 5-0 drubbing, yet this week, exactly the same situation, they miraculously can. Doncaster are not going to be happy! As for points deductions, the two unplayed games were in different seasons, so can they dish out the punishment for both in the same season? I would like to see the points deduction for Brentford taken off last seasons total post-humously.

I take their points though that players signed yesterday travelled up Sunday and Monday for talks then some went home and came back again for a medical. They've not trained together and haven't had their fitness assessed. When you consider all of that and the fact they'll be sorting out personal stuff like accommodation and the like - throwing them in tonight does seem a bit silly.

Doncaster are not going to be happy! Donny would have been a fourth game in 11 days and they’d have had to go again four days later. Tonight will be a third game in 11 days and we don’t play again until a week on Saturday.
September 3, 20196 yr If it is to be kids, so be it. Perhaps make it all kids, they did well against Coventry and perhaps deserve another shot, maybe against a weakened side, and we can thank them before they go back to the youth teams.
September 3, 20196 yr Can’t wait for tonight . Shit cup and young team but we really do have our team back now. give many of the kids the send off they deserve ( some may never play again) show FV (again) what it means to us all. Remember anything this season is a bonus. Most think we are down. plus it’s 5 quid . If you can get your arse down there and enjoy the backing that will be on display again KHSWA
