The Queen is our Head of State and is apolitical, a Prime Minister is just what it says on the tin, the ministerial top dog and will only last a maximum of 10 years in Her Majesty's Government.

I don't want the now failing US model of democracy and certainly do not want French Republicanism.

It could be a good model if we had better talent being put forward by the electorate and got rid of the extended Royal Family

I am a big fan of the Queen.

Because, despite British people being eccentric and harbouring some ridiculous politics, I’m British and get a warm and pleasant feeling from some of things that represent “Britain”.

Pride is one of the deadly sins and I’m sure it’s an emotion you have carved out of your soul, and soppy wankers like me still suffer from “pride”.

Im also proud of people like Nat Lofthouse and Mo Farah and Alan Turing. Why? Why is that? I haven’t gained financially. It hasn’t made my circumstances any better.

Im not debating whether or not we SHOULD have a monarchy, I’m discussing the fact that the one we have has been an absolutely fucking brilliant example of one.

In one way, a monarchy is vastly outdated, bordering on bizarre. In other ways, it gives us an identity that - like it or not - is envied around the world.

Im talking specifically about the Queen here. She’s been given a job that she could genuinely do however she wants as she is moneyed and privileged. But she has chosen to dedicate her life to it for 70 years and done so with a grace and dignity that you have to respect on a personal level of nothing else.

Im not hand wringing, or cap-doffing here, I am simply describing how I see the way she has discharged her duties.

Lets compare her to Captain Bumblecunt shall we?
