That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

Surely that’s not over 50k cases recorded in  the UK in a single day?

So that’s a yes. Thanks. Who was it who told me it wouldn’t happen? Can you remember? Not that for once I wanted to be right.

we will see much higher numbers than this next week anyway. Sorry to bring the facts/negativity as I know it offends some.

Wonder if China ever will?

The numbers will get much higher over the next 3 weeks, both deaths and cases

Stop being so negative.

but you are spot on. We are very much now in the eye the storm sadly. I just hope all on here and their families etc are unscathed. Could be a bumpy few weeks this.

Mrs just had a message from brh(she works for them)to book her vaccination

I doubt China will ever tell us the truth.

Its clear they've under reported. I said in here months ago, China had reported no "new cases" for a few weeks, yet the husband of one of my colleagues near to Shanghai had been confirmed with it.

Think I've mentioned before, my missus has been redeployed and is now working for the Scotch Government's track and trace team.

Up until a couple of weeks ago she had, on average, one call to make every couple of weeks. Yes, one call every couple of weeks. It was crazy, sat around staring at the laptop for days on end hoping for a case to come through so she'd have something to do.

Since then they're absolutely inundated and there are more cases than there is staff to make the calls.

Can only see it getting worse over the coming weeks too.

My brother had his first jab last week. Next one is two weeks tomorrow and that’s him sorted

Unfortunately, I reckon you're probably right.

Certainly over the next week once all the bargain shoppers have come down with it.

Sobering to hear that. As I said other day where I live we were down at less than 50 cases per 100k and we are now at 200 and rising fast. And I don’t live in a densely populated area. It’s well spread out. I fear for the cities and densely populated estates towns etc

Looking at the matches called off today this really is rife now. Although suppose footballers in their bubbles will see it spread quickly.

But how are they getting it in the bubble that’s the worrying thing?

All it takes is one person to go out of it or come into contact and an entire bubble gets it.

No I know that it’s the fact that they will, in the main, be more careful than average member of the public. Which makes it even scarier

If they can announce it for 3 weeks time then I can move house first.

With this new variant, one infected staff member could touch a surface (hand rail for example) quickly followed by several players before its cleaned and bingo.

Must be really difficult to be completely covid secure.
