Was supposed to be having daughter her fella and kids over crimbo day, her fella tested positive and kid sent home from school yesterday so a rethink and just us having a chilled day seems for the best.

My uncle lost his battle to this in Royal Bolton this morning, so he will be one of today’s numbers.  last rites over the phone held by a nurse with no family there. made an exception yester

That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

I’ve sat with my mum who is slipping away, literally breathing her last today. She idolises the Queen, and whilst she didn’t in all likelihood hear that, I know she would have loved every single

A colleague of mine (early 60s) is going to his parents’ for Xmas. Obviously, the parents are elderly and he won’t take any risks. He has started a period of isolation now, so that he knows he won’t be able to catch it and pass it on to then when he sees them.

So what you’re saying is I can start drinking at 10am in my gaff not worry about having to drive anywhere or see family members who I don’t really like.

Good job I’m a law abiding upstanding citizen

aye, though I'd have a spliff at 10.30am to ensure you're not fit to drive

Just me And the missus Xmas day. She’s going to collect and drop off gifts on Xmas eve at her mums and then that’s it and same on Boxing Day. I have suggested she could go to her mums Boxing Day but she’s not keen sadly.

I will see my mum next week for a Xmas dinner with her and that’s it.

We are just having the one family round plus the FiL but he is in our childcare bubble anyway. No point in fucking it all up now.

Ah, but who are the other family also mixing with?

This is why it can't work.

They are only seeing us. It is the wife's sister and family and the BiL is recovering after chemo and radiotherapy so they are understandably being careful. The fact we have had Covid already is a bonus in a way.

Tons will just see who they want to anyway, it will be a free for all in some folks eyes.

Call at 5pm with the devolved leaders - its going to be stopped this christmas mixing.

I still find it bonkers that saunas can remain open but the National Gallery can't, Harrods is open but the Tate can't.

Its really badly managed given that museums and galleries have been running timed, covid-safe distancing and opening since they've been allowed to re-open.

That’s what I mean, my brother in law and his  mrs (36dd, crackin) wanna meet at the in-laws then after it they go to his Mrs in-laws and we go to my parents where other family members will meet

Im saying this can’t happen BIL is saying it’s fine no one will know. 🙄

To paraphrase Basil Fawlty I don’t know why we bother , we should just let you all die

How do you know saunas are open? Asking for a friend.

My concern would be, bearing in mind we are being governed by imbeciles, that a surgery will dish out their 900 plus, then we will run short before the second dose is due

I would love to say that I don’t think there’s any chance of this happening. But actually it wouldn’t surprised me at all.

It would have been nice to have opened up and back to relative normality by late spring, but of course the caveat was that the vaccination process was even slightly efficient

and it was no way frustrating? if not, fair enough that you/they could take it on the chin

I know some, and in each case, it more than likely could've been avoided if it had been done properly from the beginning - the main issue being having no choice but to send covid free folk into hospital is basically a death sentence if they are in anyway vulnerable or have underlying conditions, but not that which mean they'd die soon anyway (which I suspect covers most of the dead)

My point was that there is little heard of relatives moaning after a death.

Remarkably little, unless all that is to come afterwards.

You mean it isn't reported? I guess people accept it because they have to. There's no cure available (or wasn't)
