Not only are we not at the back of the queue, we are way out at the front.

Some interesting details I learned earlier from Zahawi in his briefing of the committee. Israel is doing a turn up, queue and get your vaccine system. Means things start quicker.

We've focused on at risk/elderly groups, which initially (because of need to take vaccine to some) is slower.

Two different approaches. Whether one proves slightly better- not sure. One for Peely maybe.

If you're shielding are you not classed as at risk and therefore due earlier?

Yes,going of my age it should be mid June but they are hopeful it will be April if everything goes to plan.Even though I've been advised to shield they say I am not at the very high risk level  unlike the ones that got the letter but it would be much safer to be cautious

You're the same age as me. I suspect all over 50s- the initial block of cohorts- will be done a bit sooner. Just going off the expansion of the system. Presumably the rate of administration of first jabs will not rise as quickly (or plateau) once second jabs come into the set up, but listening to the AZ top brass, I envisage growth in vaccine supply.

Think need to see a full weeks figures be amazed if there is not a reporting lag at weekend. Figures I saw which I think he quoted are England only.

I doubt his aim was to ask uncomfortable questions

Hope your right pal like I said they've advised but left it upto me as to what I consider to be a risk

Fwiw, I think numbers will drop off at weekend

How much, im not sure

Deaths, vaccinations, hospitalisations or cases?

Vax

Other numbers too but that could well be down to reporting

If the supercentres run 7 days a week, might not be a big issue

UK now has the highest death rate per population in the world.

Not a glowing endorsement of our approach.

Your informant will know this: are these centres not closed or partially closed for cleaning/sterilising at some point during the week?

Thousands of folk passing through must surely pose a contamination risk on surfaces, chairs, piss-stones etc.

I'll wait for the final analysis of excess deaths the world over then.

Better.

It's also testament to our skills in genomics that identified the new (kent) strain.

Without it, thousands more across the globe would have died. Hopefully, it's nipped in the bud.
