Infections dropping quickly (YAY)

Deaths scarey (Boo)

Think vaccines probably not as high as hoped for but only seen England so far

That’s a stinky old number of deaths. Weird how this constant barrage of misery just seems normal at times.

But positive news on infections dropping.

The cases are a really good sign. I'd expected them to be higher following the weekend dip.

Hope they come down quickly now.

England only vaccines. Think have to be taken with a note of caution as not sure how reporting works on a daily basis.
Spoke to a mate today whose missus works at a GPs booking appointments for vaccines  She says loads of people when you speak to them and offer a date turn round and have other plans and want to arrange a different date.

Highest number of deaths but the two week lag now takes us out the festive period, plus the drop in cases should hopefully mean we are past the worst in terms of deaths

170k in a day is poor

Can we ask why or would only a cretin ask such a reasonable question

Wifes not done any since last wednesday and no more til thursday

The fact we have been able to do 350,000 in a day shows that we have the ability to meet the government’s target for mid February. But having days when we do half that amount makes me wonder whether we will. My local vaccination centre only opened on Monday. It did 2 days of vaccinations and were then told they weren’t sure when they would get their next delivery. You know that everyone is working as hard as they can to get this out as quickly as possible. Just hope they find a way to up production and testing clearance.

Need two jabs of course so I’ve doubled it for my rough estimate.

In fairness, we’ve never done this before. But the early signs are very encouraging

Hopefully any interruptions are minimal

Was reading a report in Spanish news paper that the vaccine produced in Belgium has been delayed temporarily, should be back to normal production by end of January so it might have something to do with that.

Dunno

I'd have thought we got Mondays figure tonight

Either way, the virus doesn't sleep at weekend

It was said yesterday that some vaccine was being targeted towards those areas that were a bit behind.

Maybe the shifting of them has had something to do with it. Or maybe a batch failed.

I thought we had 21M in the country?

That was reported the other day, who knows what to believe though.

That's what was said. Perhaps they have gone to the Premier league.

Anyone watching this documentary on ITV?

The way the care homes were mishandled by Government Departments is appalling.

Yes

if it wasn’t true, you’d never believe it.

Especially the global response

How are they saying they where mishandled?

Just ignoring the pleas of the scientific community.

Sluggish.

I can see why , we’ve really never had to deal with this in the modern era.

Learning from these mistakes is probably more important to be fair
