That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

Levelling off. Hopefully.

The lockdown will do its job.

All about the vaccines now.

Surely end of March is the target for level 1 or 2?

If you mean tiers, I'd say no chance.

Hospitals have got a lot of catching up to do. At the moment plenty of beds filling up with younger folk, even if they don't die.

Can't see any significant opening up quite so soon if there is a chance of it running rife in 40+ folk.

Whitty intimated this too.

For the sake of another 2 or 3 months, after what we've all been through, I'd prefer the nhs to have the opportunity to be able to recover and refocus on all those delayed folk.

Plus we need workers fit and ready to take up the rebuilding as soon as possible.

We just need to get through these next few weeks for the NHS which is completely overwhelmed at the moment in some areas. It has never been as stretched as it is right now, that is scary if you were to fall ill with anything. Nurses and doctors as well as support staff like porters, cleaners, etc are absolutely worn out.

Yep. Flu is very low thankfully. At least keep wearing masks and distancing for a while yet.

Definitely looks like we’ve peaked now.
A few more weeks of lockdown and the vaccination programme increasing is all positive news. Spring/summer could be one of the best. The Ashes is looking more likely than ever now.👍

Todays comments from  Australia might be raining on that parade

Australia is unlikely to fully open its borders in 2021 even if most of its population gets vaccinated this year as planned, says a senior health official."I think that we'll go most of this year with still substantial border restrictions,"

I don't see the attraction anyway, it's like signing up to go and watch Bolton get hammered at Liverpool 5 times in a short time in a heatwave

There is no way my cat is shagging Rudy. He'd be punching.

Except we might win.

I was there in 2010/11 and there is nothing like it. Nothing.

The Australians are the dullest people on the planet, I'd hate to be surrounded by then when they're crowing about a victory. On the flip side, they certainly don't like it up 'em, so I'd love to be there if we give them a good hiding, I bet that's brilliant

I watched England get hammered by Australia at Old Trafford in 1989, every session of it. It was absoultely wank. Wank

Also, looks like we might have passed the peak down here, which would be great news. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/london-coronavirus-cases-latest-figures-falling-boroughs-b900087.html

I saw something yesterday that suggested as a country we are mostly past the peak, I think NW and East Midlands still the only places with the R-rate above 1.0

It does look like this lockdown might have worked.

The vaccines look like they're being pushed out at a great rate of knots as well, so there is finally a bit of light at the end of this very, very long tunnel

Just short of 300000 last lot. New mass centres opening today too.

Fingers crossed.

Same can be said for any social media platform, take from them what you want.

For some bizarre reason my ISP put a wank-filter on my connection over the festive period...

It took about 48hrs for it to be removed.

I discovered, during those dark hours and with an idea sparked unsurprisingly from here*, that if one went on a random twitter page, then used the 'search' facility for various porn stars, they'd often have viewable XXX material that the adult content filter didn't erm...filter.

I still think Twitter is used solely by wankers though, in fact probably even more so...

* The infamous 'Geoffrey' footage - and, no, I fucking didn't 😉, but that was where I learned that Twatter allows porn...

If you're shielding are you not classed as at risk and therefore due earlier?
