Also didn’t easyJet recently get a big bail out?

I think they did...or was it Flybe? Either way  some have been bailed out

Just discussing this on FB. Virgin are a Uk registered company paying UK tax so why shouldn’t they be allowed some help?

The parent company, Virgin Group Holdings Ltd, is registered in the British Virgin Islands. Richard Branson and his family hold a £2.7 billion stake in this offshore, tax-free, tax haven company.

Like I said. Fuck him.

Didn’t he put loads of staff on unpaid leave right at the start of all this?

Fuck him.

And if his island does end up held in hock by the British taxpayers, bagsie last week in August.

Yep he did same as I think most of not all airlines. The fixed costs are horrific. The only way they will have a job to go back to is to do it. It’s one industry that’s the fastest way to ruin

Etihad airways run at a loss of hundreds of millions a year I believe. Always have.

branson put the staff on unpaid leave and chucked in 215m I think to keep the ship afloat. Now it’s going to sink if it doesn’t get more

hurricane season August and too humid.  I will take 2 weeks in December or early Jan

Is that good or bad news?

Good.

It goes green, amber, red or black depending on how busy we are. We're usually teetering between red and black.

Just not getting the numbers through the doors like we usually do.

Easy jet got  a 600m loan. Just after stelios paid himself 60m dividends.

no faux outrage

branson chucks in 215m and asks for a loan of 500m and the beds are being wet and facebook is angry.

I know which one folk should be fake angry about and it isn’t the second one

and we wonder why the world is in the state it’s in

If I get my money back for my cancelled flight, he can have a loan

But why not the outpouring of hate towards stelios do you think? And why so many janices and Doreens on Facebook and Twitter sick to the pit of the their stomachs about the virgin situation And Richard Branson? 🌹

Is it a standardised colour system across trusts or CCG’s?

The beard?

Why did Stelios get his loan and not Branson? Is it where/how they are registered?

Virgin airline are registered in Crawley so if it’s just the airlines we are talking about it shouldn’t make a difference.

No idea you would need to ask the people that declined his approach.

and as far as I’m aware it’s registered in the UK and pays normal rates of tax in the UK.

49% but more or less aye

Oil price now < £0, apparently

Minus 299% now.

Apparently because all storage is full up due to production continuing but demand falling off a cliff.

US Oil prices have turned negative for the first time ever.

I was going to post a sarcastic comment along the lines of "how does that work, are they going to pay us to buy it now?" only to find out that's literally what it means.

Well it’s a strange one then.

It’s also quite ironic to see these champions of capitalism and small government asking for government help.
