Could I ring up and just say “yeah I licked John Smiths face the other day and I’ve got a new cough”

It all seems a bit flimsy

Well you'd have to test positive first.

But yeah, after that, you can pretty much choose anyone at random in the country to lock up at home for 14 days.

Has it been clarified who's paying the wages of people who have to self-isolate, and how much? If it ends up being just SSP, that's going to be a tough sell.

I see the US has just passed 100,000. A very sad milestone.

That’s pretty big news that is. One of the biggest councils (conservative led as well)  in the country making that decision could be a game changer .....

Lots of councils have already done the same..

However Councils don't have much say over Academy Schools.. As they are ran separate and will decide themselves.

Secondary has already been put back by 2 weeks to the 15th June, and even then it's now only face to face meetings.

You are a sweetheart for keeping my image so close to your heart. I refer you back to the desperately unfunny section. I take it this isn’t the first time you like to bring the actual personal into this, I believe we’ve all seen it before when people expose your ludicrous ramblings.

Now, are you going to stop being a massive tit, or do you just like making yourself look a bit foolish daily?

Going to be some very quizzical looks at the jolly boys

I reckon spider looks quite normal for a ginger. Mad as a box of frogs but looks quite normal.

Use someone’s real name?

Not for me, Clive

They chose the wrong week to launch an app that contacts you out of the blue and tells you to stay at home for 14 days even with no symptoms

I wouldn’t post my name on here or a link to it.  You know my name as I do yours But I wouldn’t post yours unless you decided to make it public. Think that’s fair

I'm same.

When you say "going" do you mean available?  Always wanted to be a pilot.

So if I get put forward for this and have no symptoms I can't book a test straight away, get found negative and go back to work?!

So I MUST self-isolate but it's mandatory?

Even if I have a test and am found negative I still have to complete the 14 days isolating?!?!

WTF?!??!

Clear as mud. I thought the point of this was to get rid of the need of 'isolating for nothing'. Any mention of the app yet? Nah

Seems fairly simple and clear.

Ok, might be better to have a test earlier, but perhaps that would need even greater capacity than is currently available.

Although some of the infrastructure will be different, the basic method is the same as Germany, etc.

Lots of folk with phones or as in some places knocking on doors.

Interestingly, South Korea didn't make their scheme mandatory initially but changed it.

Not sure about Germany, but they have high compliance within the population so it may not matter.

Therein lies what may be the biggest issue: if people don't comply, don't moan if it drags on.

I’m going to move down here for a week when they open as will be way behind that for opening up north
