Ha ha, brilliant.😄

Glad to have that sorted out. I look forward to the PM and Cabinet welcoming the clarification.

I see maitlis isnt popular

Would neil have been reprimanded for similar

got it spot on with her intro though

"Dominic Cummings broke the rules – the country can see that and it’s shocked the government cannot."

“The longer ministers and the prime minister insist he worked within them, the more likely the angry response to the scandal is likely to be … He made those who struggled to keep to the rules feel like fools, and has allowed many more to assume they can flout them.”

Talking of Johnson’s “blind loyalty” in the face of plummeting poll ratings, she expressed bafflement: “The prime minister knows all this and has chosen to ignore it.”

Maitlis always gives me a little twitch

Can’t believe people are still going on about Cummings.

He said he did nowt wrong, and that we should all just let it be.

Even though he did wrong, and we shouldn’t.

But let it be.

Cummings statement was entirely true.

We've always been at war with Eurasia and Eastasia have been loyal allies throughout. I shall tell my neighbors as much at the three minute hate I mean clap.

although the fella across the road has been voicing some disturbing comments latelike. I shouldn't be surprised if he's tracked and traced.

Nursery just sent a note out, not reopening on Monday after all

Lancashire County Council have told them it’s not safe

Not sure which particular wanker / wankers at LCC have made that call but I will find out and make sure I give them dogs abuse

edit - Dr Sakthi Karunathini is the man, CMO for LCC

I wonder if he will also recommend that shops shut as it can’t be any safer. We would all starve to death of course but one rule for one and all that

It’s the public health director Lancashire county council who’s issued the advise Dr Karunanthini.

To be fair to him he said that they cannot comply with all the governments own 5 tests.

Last I heard from wife’s school they are still planning to go in on 8th June despite the warning.

Lots of councils have already done the same..

However Councils don't have much say over Academy Schools.. As they are ran separate and will decide themselves.

Secondary has already been put back by 2 weeks to the 15th June, and even then it's now only face to face meetings.

What exactly are you meaning with that.

Lad's got classes 3 days a week. One two hour class a day. Is this what you mean, or has it changed, because I've heard nowt?

Deaths have gone up again in the NW hospitals - 50 today. Highest for 16 days.

This virus isn't declining in the communites outside of London and the care homes, we are flat, which suggests the R rate is very near to 1 around here.

The schools opening is going to increase this, the tracking and tracing should decrease it - hopefully by more.

It’s almost as if people from all backgrounds have ignored the lockdown rules and the virus won’t play ball.

As if.

to me, it seems the Government want the schools to increase it to a manageable amount. Why else would they decide to put secondary back (the kids that can (in theory) social distance), and leave the young ones as they are...(that have no idea what it means)..

I'll do what I'm told at work and was a bit gutted to find out it's been moved back quietly on a Sunday evening.. but the lack of clarity is absolute daft..

Councils saying one thing, academies saying another..

I think they're playing a dangerous game - schools are going to put the rates up, definatley.

Might only be a slight %.  but if that tips the R rate over 1, then we are into growth again, which we only find out 2 weeks down the line at the earliest.

If you were being cautious youd send the schools back regionally, in regions where the R rate is the lowest,  and see what the impact is 2 or 3 weeks later.

I noticed that the primary school near us have today started to erect a load of marquees in the playing fields. Presumably they will be using them as additional teaching rooms.

They've shied away from a regional approach throughout, despite London being weeks ahead. If anything it looks like our region is the worst in the country now:

Have they managed to isolate where transmission is taking place? I know a lot of it is within households, but it still has to reach that household in the first place?

A quick venture outdoors will confirm that if the virus is still prevalent in the NW, we’re doing fuck all to stop it.
