The PHE model of R feeds into that SAGE number, so it's not like they just picked some crank professor off the internet to start believing.

The reality is that the government overstated how much they'd be willing to let policy be dictated by these numbers. And communication across the board is now absolutely all over the place.

Thanks for posting that. I had a look at the response on twitter. 

 

There were lots of people who had a similar experience to me (early - mid Jan, two waves, with post viral fatigue and cough lasting into lockdown).

However the death rate didn't spike as it did when Covid-19 hit us big time.

Maybe there was another virus circulating with very similar symptoms. Or it came early to a few people and the deaths just formed part of the winter flu numbers. 

Very tempted to get the antibody test when available and reliable.

Just having a read through this and the second paragraph talks about the opening of clubs, bars and restaurants on July 4 as if its common knowledge.

I know it has been mentioned on here and I've heard it mentioned in a couple of other places, but has this been officially announced anywhere yet? I'd heard of pubs with outdoor spaces but this sounds like everything.

Meanwhile, had a survey off Virgin gym asking about how I'd feel about them reopening. The wheels are turning now.

I haven’t seen it officially, I’ve received emails from restaurants with booking forms with lists of precautions And actions they have put in place for Covid And how the restaurant will operate, Goucho was one, with the expectation to open in July 4th. 
 

this was backed up with a friend who works in the industry who sent me a message saying he had confirmation that a number of bars especially those with outdoor spaces ( circa 30-40k, his estimation) will be opening on July 4th and relaxed laws from councils to ensure outdoor drinking by utilising pavements and spaces where practicably possible for pubs with limited space.

Sounds like 4 July is a not very secret secret then. Football back on and pubs open to show it in, may as well just open the stadium doors.

The relaxed laws for street drinking is interesting and would like to see how its controlled and policed!

Aye few of my hotels have been in touch saying they’re opening on July 4th. 

Pubs have already got staff in gearing up for it. Screens being put in and all that bollocks. They’ve all had notification from the breweries to prepare for the 4th with a shit load of restrictions.
