Bolton born, never played for the club

There have been some great players born in Bolton and district (yes that includes Farnworth) who have never played for BWFC.

I'll start with one, you name the rest.

Here is mine:

 Tommy Lawton

Not all those born in Bolton and played for the club were a success. After selling Franny Lee to City for 60K we replaced him with Bolton lad Terry Wharton, signed from Wolves for 70K.

Great shout that.  Phil Stant was a really top lower division striker, would have suited us perfectly at the time.

Think I played against Hulme's  back in the day, think it was either Rocket or Top of the Brow, they were good team but for some reason they usually struggled to beat us, was fun playing them on home territory especially as we were LH team.

Definitely. Both his parents are from Bolton families & he was brought up here.

He did play with Bolton Juniors until about 13 and then United came calling.

Without fear of a backlash do the neville bell ends count as they were born in a BL postcode

Wanderers Youth Team?

Used to play with Stan when we were kids, he was a bit of a soft arse & a titliner in those days, God lad though. Certainly toughened him up in the army 😁

Not really a hotbed of football talent. Thing we need to cast our net wider

Ollie Norburn - ran the show for Shrewsbury against us.
