Lockdown Retro Gaming

Handed over my XBox 360 to the grandson so he can play Sonic The Hedgehog (apparently it’s big again now?) and I only ever used the thing as a DVD player

Anyway went in the loft and retrieved my PlayStation 2 and Gran Turismo 4. Fucking hell I’d forgotten how addictive these games are. Graphics are a bit shit but my word I can’t put the fucking thing down. I’d happily sit here on it all day and night if I could

I succumbed to an Xbox one the other week. Fifa daft although I’m shit. Call of duty as well  but I also love the old games. Remember frogger? Or am I showing my age here?,

Well certainly hasn’t been the case for Xbox or that I’m aware of pal

Bill Gates is rich for a reason pal

I have now had 2 hole in ones this lockdown on Wii golf.

Missus has got very competitive but not managed one. It is really pissing her off.

We've rediscovered Mario karts on the Wii in our house, passes some time on furlough 😴...the Mrs mullers me at it 9 outta 10, pisses me off no end!

PS5 seems to be £400 with a disc drive , £300 is the rumour for the one without a disc drive

Have dusted off battlefield 3 on origin, still one of my favourite fps after many years. Nice to roam around enclosed spaces without fear of anything other than a shotgun in the face. Although I've got my avatar properly masked up.

downloaded apex legends which is origin answer to fortnite but not yet begun the humiliation of getting fragged by teenagers.

Hope those prices are right. Another £100 for a 4k dvd player makes the desicion an easy one

It’s not just that. It’s backwards compatible, so the PS4 discs you can use on the 5 but not on the digital version

the current white xbox's bluray player is a 4k one, the current playstation's drive isnt.

i find that bizarre.

GOG had the original Theme Park for £1.27, then KOTOR 1/2 for £3.30 odd.

Another Total War giveaway, this time on Epic Game Launcher: https://epicgames.com/

Total War Troy is the latest one. No idea if it's any good, they go a little bit like versions of windows, some of them great, some not so much. It's a £35 new game for free though so that's nice, but only for 24 hours.

CD Keys are really good for cheap PC games. Not sure how they manage it but they're always about half price of Steam.

Thanks for this tip BTW! 👍

Epic do free games every week and as long as you claim them when they are free you can install and play at a later date. Me and the kids share an account and I usually claim the freebies every week and then if they fancy em they play em as and when.

Just managed to  preordered the PS5 because I’m a massive geek.

£450. Crikey.

Just found this thread intending to post the same! There's a couple of other games free at the moment as well, but the deadline for claiming is Thursday.

im in two minds about getting back into football manager. It's years since I played it, but way back then it was deadly addictive and time consuming. Can only think its even more so now.

It's got overly complicated now so it's sucked a lot of the fun out of it for me.

I get the touch version for iPad. Simplified version and still highly addictive
