August 5, 20206 yr Someone apparently posted Rick Parrys address. Looks like more Bolton than Wigan on there
August 5, 20206 yr I know there’s been rivalry and I know some of the Wigan fans were a disgrace when we were in trouble but it’s only a minority of real football fans. Losing your football club is tragic and we could easily have lost ours but I don’t wish having your club destroyed by crooked owners on any fan. I hope they survive so we can continue to tease them and give them the odd thrashing now and again.

You're entitled to your opinion whitesince63 and I do have every sympathy for the non playing staff at Wigan, certainly more than the scrotes from Wigan had for our non playing staff. However when fans consciously hire a mini bus or drive 3 cars to our ground to smirk and grin into the camera at our plight( we were on our knees) and then post it onto the internet with crass comments is over stepping the mark in my book. There are things that you just don't do, an example off the top of my head, footballers being aggressive with each other is fine but spitting at each other is overstepping the mark. If the roles had been reversed last summer I definitely wouldn't have done what they did. Last summer I wasn't looking for support from them, stony silence would have been acceptable to me, even comments laughing at our plight on their own forums is fine because I don't have to read it. But to rub our noses in it the way they did especially when staff would be losing their jobs is over stepping the mark in my book.

If they get out of this with a football club then they may learn a valuable lesson in the process.
August 5, 20206 yr I agree, but im pretty sure some of ours wouldve done the same that day in similar circs Anyway, its a nice pic to have in the take the piss locker

I just hope FV are here for the long term at least to try and get the club running on a sound financial basis.

August 5, 20206 yr Venkys made a pig's ear of it at Blackburn at first but they've stuck it out. Compare that with tank-top Ken and the bloke who took over Wigan. I still hope they get bored soon and drop the dingles in the shit. However I don't recall Blackburn fans being graceless towards BWFC this time last year. So they're in a slightly different category. Incidentally some of Blackpool's fans were wishing us to go bust 12 months ago as well. Although as I recall - the club did offer some assistance to our staff when they weren't being paid. PNE and Everton seemed the strongest on that score.
August 5, 20206 yr To be fair, Blackburn, Burnley and Preston especially, were, on the whole, pretty sound when we were in the eye of our storm. I'm sure plenty took the piss on their own sites but there were plenty offering moral support in the media. Wigan and Tranmere though positively revelled in it, and it wasnt just a few of em, so fuck em. I wouldn't wish what happened to us on anyone, apart from them 2.
