BLM

How come there isn't a thread for this ?

Is it because they've revealed their true colours, excuse the deliberate pun.

Folk were warned re their true intentions, but as always called racist by the naive.

Say a gay person says it makes them feel more welcome & accepted in the sport... Do you still think it achieves nothing?

I don't think anyone is claiming it to be a solution. It's a very small gesture. But for some it does make an impact.

Like a lass at work said, she doesn’t want to be a statistic she just wants to be considered a footballer.

I think there are better ways to include people, I think it’s a hollow gesture.

In regards to Millwall booing, that is the biggest proof that kneeling alone isn’t working.

Let’s not pretend this is just Milwall, it will be up and down the country as fans are let back in, quite right as well IMO

I’ve never heard Kick it out get booed, doubt I ever will

BLM though, it’s a toxic brand run by complete wankers, it has no place in British Sport for me (I think plenty would share that opinion)

I’d say the same if it was linked to political groups from the far right, extreme politics needs to fuck off from day to day life, never mind sport

Then she doesn’t take the knee. Personal choice innit

i think there are better ways too; but that doesn’t mean I’d stop those that wanted to, doing it, nor does anything justify booing it

Do you think that the players taking the knee are showing support for an extremist group?

Honestly?

Didn’t quite have the desired effect then if the tv cameras didn’t capture it. And besides, great reactions to the booing, he didn’t even nearly get down and then change to standing with a Black Power salute or whatever he’s doing.

I think it’s more poignant than following suit. He wouldn’t of been mentioned at all.

Agree with other posters that Millwall fans who boo’d are proper weird for doing so. Such bizarre behaviour, especially being away so long.

Some will be yes, others will be doing it for anti racism and want nothing to do with BLM

It’s hard to differentiate as it’s called the same thing

If it was Britain First (another group of nutters all be it from the other end of the spectrum) I’d not want that near a football pitch either. Even if folk said it had nothing to do with the political group ‘Britain First’

On another note

Do you think everyone booing is a racists who thinks Black Lives Don’t Matter as much as white ones?

Not a good example for me

Racism in itself is much greater than politics and transcends (or should) petty bollocks like that. Tackling racism will be viewed by the majority as a “good thing”

Britain first is simply a far right extremist group and doesn’t form part of (or pretend to) a greater movement to better all, so they couldn’t possibly do what you say

That’s not an answer to my question :)

Here's that other time the Millwall fans had a political sing song.

Think this one might have been in protest to a Maoist ideology, more than likely in support of Tibet.

It’s a good example for me, a far right political group who should be no where near football vs a far left group who should be no where near football

BLM are about anti capitalism and a break up of the ‘western prescribed nuclear family’ amongst other things. Fuck that!

Footballers might as well wear Momentum T shirts and have done with it, no place in Sport for me

Here they are sticking it to Castro.

I do. They're all definitely Marxists. I imagine they go home straight after the game and spend the evening reading Das Kapital 😁

I'm willing to bet 95% of the people booing yesterday couldn't give you a working definition of what Marxism even means.

I'm not sure I could either to be honest.

Spit it out. You don't like the idea of footballers taking 3 seconds to promote racial equailty. You are allowed to say that. Just say it.

Prefer the 90+ minutes that follow, illustrating the magnificent level of equality that exists in the game.

BLM U.K. distanced itself from all that months ago

It just doesnt serve a single purpose anymore.

Its not going to make anyone less racist. Itll have the opposite effect.

Weve just had a summer of riots ffs. The awareness is there in its abundance.

We are all aware now of the apparent problems in the game and society. It really doesnt need to happen anymore.

Nobody should be taking a knee for anyone. Actions are what needed not empty gestures that do more harm than good.

If you actually think they're taking the knee out of support for Marxism then you need to start listening to their personal reasons for doing it.

Then I'll await the next excuse for why it's bollocks 👍☺️

Kick it out have praised the Derby & Millwall players & support the message.

One Derby player didn’t take the knee. It looked as though the camera was quickly changed to a close-up of someone on their knee.

I’m not sure if he made a conscious decision not to kneel, and I’d defend his right to do that without labelling him a racist bigot (unlike some on here!).

Or did he forget?

It's his prerogative - no-one is labelling him a racist bigot for not participating, maybe if he'd wandered about his teammates and the day's opponents berating them...

Strange, the same people defending Bermondsey shitehawks are the very same who'd have seen James McClean (yes, a gobshite) shot at dawn for refusing a poppy on his shirt.

What you on about? We've already established that racism isn't a problem over here. And when it happens it's always a minority who are swiftly dealt with.👮

p.s - not sure they're sarf London accents singing that ...

I considered myself non-racist, until Kent posted that video...

I'd been sampling some of my Home Bargains and was a bit tipsy, mulling over that clip...

Next thing I knew I fashioned a robe and hood out of my mattress topper and a cross out of a small baguette and a large baguette - lashed together with red liquorice string.

I found myself planting it in the flowerbed of some African neighbours, dousing it in turps and setting it alight.

I doubt those virtue-signalling knee-ers wanted that reaction, but that's what they got.
