July 22, 20206 yr A fair few times he had a 'fuck it I'll do it myself' moment. I remember people criticised him for being lazy because he didn't run round like a mad man like SKD.

There was an FA cup replay against Arsenal, where I think in extra time we sent Jussi up to find an equaliser. He ran the full length of the pitch and ended up our last man back and gave away a penalty. So much for being lazy. Misunderstood indeed. Pure class that boy.
July 22, 20206 yr Author I remember a European game against Zenit I think. Nothing was happening Diouf and Anelka came on and they were just telepathic with each other. When they were both on the pitch I thought we could beat anyone
July 22, 20206 yr Full of praise for us as a club, rated Sam as up there with Wenger as the best managers he worked under and playing for us was the favourite point of his career remember just after we’d signed him we were at Charlton. He was just sat on the bench. Just kept looking over thinking “weve fucking got Anelka” Edited July 22, 20206 yr by barrycowdrill

When they were both on the pitch I thought we could beat anyone I don't know if its same game you're referring to but it was the same v Rabotnicki in that qualifier second leg, we were going nowhere until he came on. Pure Rolls Royce footballer, finishing was lethal and his pace was unreal, although sometimes i dont think that was always as noticable as someone as raw with it like Owen or Traore for example. Loved him, one of those who didnt play so many games for us but could be considered a legend.
