From what I can see with Fleetwood over this way is that their academy is massively linked to local football.

Pool foot is ran as a business, all their pitches are full daily and the academy have their own off-shoot teams littered across the whole age group and leagues.

Presume this kind of model isn't used at Accy?

It's certainly the only way I can see making academies viable.

Fleetwood even doing their own college courses now for post GSCE in sports science and the likes.

Did captain pugwash play on the jukebox every time he ordered a pint?

Only really got to know a lot about Fleetwood's set up over last few years, since living close by and stepdaughter working in a local school. Their whole model is very good, really embedded in the local community and do a lot for it in numerous different ways.

Also noticed that their ladies reserve team played in the same league as the Wanderers ladies, this season. After promotion, they will join the Fleetwood ladies first team in the league above.

Their robust ladies structure is more evidence of their rounded approach at the club.

Pool Foot is ace, Accy might keep junior teams, but the academic side will go- with it the big games and the hours of coaching.

Accy have a lot more competition on their doorstep too

Can see a lot of the “local” cat 3 academies struggling this season. Carlisle have obviously left the football league, Morecombe have been relegated, Rochdale and Oldham have both gone. It’s not looking good.

They can go to cat 4 which is just 17-21, and not as much educational support. I’d love to see more emphasis on the academic side with clubs getting in bed with universities, and having competitive leagues

Have you reported him to the relevant authority?

Not sure one or two mega cunts should stop you doing something you enjoy, though it's understandable.

If you do Jack it in, one arrow the cunt and smash his car windscreen.

I'm not going to bother. I said last night I'll sleep on it and on reflection, I would prefer to just bitch and moan instead. The players were a genuinely nice bunch. Good as gold, respectful and talented. It'd be a shame to have them potentially lose their team because a couple of 2-foot tough guys who can't keep their emotions in check.

Had I felt genuinely intimidated, I would have, but I didn't. I was just pissed off a bit. Still am really.

But it's not worth it. Especially as they get older and the games start meaning more and more.

There is a severe lack of refs in the BBDJFL. Pretty much every game in my sons old Salford League had a ref allocated. Not had 1 in daughters league all season, or since my son started playing in Bolton league

I'd like meet the fixture planner that has planned Lytham away on a Thursday night for 6pm.

From Thornton itd be actually easier for me to get Bolton and back.

Shambles.

poor show from the club not forking out for a ref- if you are ever stuck let me know, but i would still report them to the league- they could in theory get a newbie just qualified at 14... would they be brave enough to do it then?

Scabbed a 2-2 on Saturday despite being rubbish for the most part.

Their team had a little shite playing for them. In separate moments, he booted the ball about a mile away when he wasn't given a foul, karate kicked a corner flag when a throw in wasn't given his way, called his teammate a 'fuckin moron' (this is u10s) and then punched and kicked his coach when he was subbed off.

I think reporting him is still the right thing to do.

I take your points Boris, but what happens next time when the twat is unhappy?

Can't be a good motivation method for the girls, especially those that play for him as they may become scared of him.

boils my piss that- i wont tolerate it; have a U7s like it... soon as he starts he's off. mum (meh, standard) reckons its cos he's ginger... no, its cos he's a little shit with no discipline. i have kids across the spectrum, i understand and make allowances; but shit like that needs nipping in the bud

on a separate note, managed my first 'competitive' (as in against another manager) game in over a year, my U6s trounced U7s 5-1... wont lie it felt good, might have to give it a go again

My lad's just turned 9 (a very small 9, at that) and has been turned from an attacking winger to a wing-back in his u9 team. He scored a hatfull in the first half of the season, but that was pretty much all he did.. To the detriment of his goals, he's coming on absolutely leaps and bounds. Energy, fitness, skill, decision making, getting properly stuck in and getting nods of approval from other teams coaches and parents. Really really proud of him and I thanked his coach much to his surprise. When I pulled him at the end of the game, he thought I was going to have a moan about him not playing up front! 🙂

Daughter scored her first open play goal for her new team on Sunday too. Played CM (normally either side of a back 3). Ball out of her feet and smashed a knuckle ball from 20 yards (this after hitting the bar and fizzing another just wide of the stanch) - She was outstanding. Took a while to figure out where she needed to be once she'd passed the ball off, but second half, she ran the show

Refereed both games without any issues this week, so I'm not sulking anymore 😄

Parents from other team were bang at it with eachother yesterday. One parent berating someone else's kid for not tracking back when we scored.

It was about 300 degrees out there and every single on of them was fucked.

Ended up in a big row and all getting pulled apart. Quite sad looking at their kids just stood watching it unfold as they try to play an end of season dead rubber on a concrete pitch.

It's under 15s. It really doesn't matter that much.

As said on here before, it's going to get to the point where kids will be under the care of the coaches and club with parents not allowed to attend, or security being on site. It's absolutely bonkers
