Fleetwood academy just received £85k for a 14 year old goalkeeper from Man United.

I didn't realise the level of fees even at that age.

We've received more for a 14-yo from Liverpool

Yeah, it’s based upon academy status and maybe even length of time. Is it Jonathan?

I believe Lee Anderson’s ex model wife did!!

1 down 1 to go.. Daughter's team won their division with a 6-0 demolition yesterday. u12's and they genuinely looked like they weren't arsed. Parents chucking prosecco and flares about and the girls just completely took it in their stride. 😄

Cup final at Eddie Davies Academy on 1st June for the double

This season they've so far played 28 games, 25 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat, 103 goals scored, 19 conceded, 17 clean sheets! Worthy winners

Lads last game for district yesterday; broken thumb so played outfield- it’s important we support this level of the game, should be proud to play representative football. Been a great 3 years

Having 2 daughters who had no interest in playing, but had STs, the grandson is a godsend for me

Love the respect he has for his coach. And conversely, the respect the coach has for the kids.

Thinly veiled, off to Benalmadina on Monday. Grandson already asked me if I’ll practice ‘1-2s’ with him if there’s a footy pitch at the hotel so that he can work on what his coach wants him to improve over the summer

Thats a decent coach there. No pressure but got a 9 year old wanting to do better

and guaranteed he's questioned himself 1000 times over- he's worried about game time, formations, development, kits, safeguarding, transition through age groups, and dozens more... he's given countless hours

i only got back into it about 5 years ago- i did it when i was younger, but then my own kids came along; in that time though i have set up six new teams and got a fair few more into established sides... the gratitude from parents and players alike is amazing

think i have 6 years left on the mortgage... the dream is to run football camps in the sun for a decade or so; you just know that whatever shit a kid has going on, they can lose themselves and be happy with a ball at their feet

oh and this place is like Poolfoot on speed

I’ve been following the trip on different socials, it looks like they’ve had a blast. Our Billy has his first trial on Saturday so fingers crossed.

I think it’s disgusting that Bolton doesn’t have a town team. How has that been allowed to happen?

ET’s u12 team folded as Paul left. The same year they had national champions, they were struggling to get teams together in the younger age groups. Mad really that people don’t buy into it!

local pro clubs don’t help putting their girls off it.

It’s awful… I know there are some clashes, but it’s a god standard

FA have sent rules out to all grassroots clubs re insurance- none in place until July, so no friendlies to take place until then. I’d check with tournament organisers if you have any lined up that you’ll be covered

Takes a LOT of funding, that local authorities don't want to contribute to. Salford council have cut off all funding now for Salford Schools Football and each team has to be self-funded through fundraising or/and sponsorship. The established older age groups can manage this, but the u12 year groups will find it tough, as we've experienced first hand 😞

Is this not the sort of community project, Sharon and the board (with help from club sponsors) should be throwing themselves into?

And, you never know, the best young footballers, involved with Bolton Schools supported by Bolton Wanderers, might be captured by the Wanderers, as players and fans.

And a town girls team, for the same reasons.

I think it’s more likely it’ll be funded through commercial partners such as AO.com or Victoria(n?) Plumbing.

There are probably rules against them being funded by local academies or pro clubs. Even via “<insert town> in the community”

though Liverpool do play in red and often play at their academy under the watchful supervision of their coac…. Scouts

I absolutely loved being involved in coaching my daughters team ,we wrapped it up when they got to u14s, and I was gutted. We lost almost every week but what a laugh we had. I bump into the odd player every now and then they are adults now and I always get a lovely welcome.  A great time in my life.
