Dogs and the vets

Dog started with a slight limp (back leg) Saturday morning. No obvious injuries or anything stuck between toes. Gradually got worse so I've booked him into the vets. Earliest I can get is Wednesday. He's only 1, so it's not old age.

Given his paws a salt bath and trying to make him rest. Anyone got any advise to try and help the poor lad?

I can cope with poorly humans but not with poorly animals 😢

Going to miss my big daft pal so much 😢

Sorry to hear this mate, I am worried ours is not far off. Dread to think about it. Only person in our house that I get on with most days 😂. Dogs are fucking great.

Dogs are indeed fucking great. Wilf is at the vets tomorrow just for an injection for allergies. He'sour daughters dog but she knows better than to take him without inviting me.

He's 10 now but still daft as a brush.  He's a trig dog so fit as fuck.

Sorry for your loss Miami. I'm dreading it coming, mainly for my daughter at the moment.

Mine was in the vets yesterday. Fucking idiot chased a cat into the bushes came out with cuts all over his legs and feet. £125 to the vets in excess etc with what ever else the insurance has to pay.

Stupid lad has been lying on the sofa since feeling sorry for himself.

That's cheap!

Mind you half a bottle if vodka and some cotton wool swabs to clean the wounds would be less 😆

think it came to over £400 all in but we only had to pay the excess and a couple of little things the insurance didn't cover.

My half blind old boy needed stitches when he fell down some concrete steps, vet said "he's done a number there" and neededa dozen stitches, think it was about £400 so sounds about right.

Ours is on her last legs after 13 years, emergency vets last night, her back legs have suddenly stop working.

Missus is in bits, I am acting tough whilst crying in the shower ! It is fucking wank.

Our vets which is Pennine in tottington wanted me to take ours for his follow up check to their branch in Harwood, that's where we had our last one put down. I couldn't face going back there so made up some excuse to change the day so I could go to totty.

Yeah we had this chat on the way to the emergency vets last night. We are going to our normal vets first thing in the morning

Came across a Reform meet up on today's walk

Like losing a child. Commiserations Ani.

The last one put us off ever doing it again. 1-2 months before we properly recovered.

Cheers we are in the holding phase, she is not in pain but struggling to get about. Had a great chat with a brilliant vet this week who said we are doing everything right and thinking in the right way.

She pointed that her ‘oath’ is about protecting and helping animals not the owners so if she thought we were wrong she would say so. I never realised vets had such an oath.

You're rehoming him?  He's a bonny lad. Where's he off to?

That's possibly the evilest thing I've seen AI used for, outstanding work @Spider

Hope his new home is a good one pal x
