Its only when I have seen that fixture list has it truly hit home how far we have fallen.

  • There's a big positive here. We can complete the season then all stay down there for our FA Cup Final appearance.

  • Can see me having Xmas at my mums and joining you boys for this

Are wolves the only team to win all 4 divisions?

No. Preston and Burnley have.

Thats the one

Never won the Premier League.

Won top division three times in 1950s. We’d certainly still be claiming it if we’d ever won it.

It’s unfortunate that getting drawn against a non-league club usually results in the fixture being reversed (Gretna) or played at a nearby League ground (Emley & others)

Not allowed to do either of those any more

Really? So if we drew Chorley away it would have to be played in front of 4!600 rather than a potential massive money earner at UofB? Crazy!

To be fair if such a switch happened they people would bemoan the end of the 'magic' of the FA Cup etc.

It's actually been banned since 2003, would you believe. Last club to do it were Farnborough who switched their home game against Arsenal to Highbury.

Doesnt the old 'on police advice' trump competition rules?

From Wiki:

Quote

In the matches for the twelve competition rounds, the team who plays at home is decided when the fixtures are drawn – simply the first team drawn out for each fixture. Occasionally games may have to be moved to other grounds due to other events taking place, security reasons or a ground not being suitable to host popular teams. However, since 2003, clubs cannot move grounds to the away side's for capacity or financial reasons. If any move has to be made, it has to be to a neutral venue and any additional monies earned by the move goes into the central pot.

Wiki also says that replays used to be played within three or so days after the original tie but police advice results in the tie occurring 10 days later. So yes, I reckon in cases of very local draws, police would advise to play at the larger, easier to police venue. The last sentence about the extra revenue is important here, it’ll be lining the pockets of someone at the FA.

So Chorley v Bolton would be at DW?

Don't think there have been any games moved on these grounds, just made all-ticket etc.

A google says havant v millwall moved to portsmouth in 2006

Missed that one, but it certainly doesn't happen often. Obviously it's a Milwall thing - Leigh RMI drew Millwall at home but it got shifted to Millwall (albeit before the rules changed) once GMP presented their likely bill.

I think Harrogate away will be our first game that we can attend

Donnys ground holds 13k so should be able to open all 4 ends and give us 3k with Harrogate 1k

Nothing official but there seems to be a lot of talk about not allowing away fans in anywhere until at least next year.

I imagine that Harrogate would want a lot more than 1K in any case.

i dont think grounds will be the issue at some places

I think they wont want to encourage the use of public transport

I've not got around to renewing my season ticket yet. Am i correct in thinking that I can now go to the club shop and re-new, rather than doing it via the on-line palaver

Sold out. They’ve capped at 6000 STs in case the social distancing becomes an issue by selling more.
