He would, commission for him, keep your property as long as you’ve already got reasonable pension in place, spread the risk.

yeah, tbh, his case was based on the rental return

While disregarding the increase in value of the house

Rent is poss a bit low, but ive got a long term renter who is no trouble at all

If he wanted out, then id probably sell it as wife would prefer to cash it in

Shes seen too many shit tenant docs

I signed up to the Pension scheme as soon as I got my Apprenticeship straight from school in 1998. Never gave it a second thought until a few weeks ago when I was driving somewhere and my lungs suddenly shut down. Honestly thought I was having a heart attack or something. Was only 2 minutes from a hospital, so drove straight there, where they did a few tests and told me there was fuck all wrong with me. The doc suggested it was a combination of allergic reaction and panic attack. I was lucky enough to sign up just before they ended the "Final Salary Scheme", but I only signed up to the intermediate contribution level, so I'll be maxing my contributions soon. Still can't get my head around how it all works. Get regular texts off my old gaffer saying "Keep working lad! The Mrs has booked another cruise!"

I lot of people have been thinking like that, health comes into the equation more and its generally about a balance, how long do you think you will live and how much money will you need.  And then you hear of someone you know who retired at say 65 in full health, 2 years later BROWN BREAD!

Scares the fuck out of me, I'm going at 60 no matter how much money I lose on my pension for cashing it in early.

Mr Worthington, the chem teacher at Deane Grammar for a fine example. Croaked it on stage getting his retirement presents, same year as Tommy Cooper

Bloke at our place, took early retirement at 55. Been there 35 years. Dropped dead from a heart attack 6 months later. Pension company's dream customer

I've known loads who have croked it a couple of years after retirement, it's very sad.

My dad popped his clogs at 66 in August, only got his state pension the previous March when he turned 65. I bet the Government were chuffed to fuck, he only had a small private pension because they weren't available as much as today back then.

I think my state retirement age is 67, and a lot defer it and work past it, fucking mad some people.

Sorry to hear that mate.

Thanks, but It's fine fella, just an example of sometimes we think about money than life itself, and this year we can hardly spend any dosh due to Rona. No holidays, mini-breaks, football, pub etc....

When all this is over I'm gonna develop an even more 'I don't give a fuck attitude' 🤓

Good man, life is too short.....a bit like Leigh White 💣
